The Senior Product Designer will define the architecture for user interactions with an AI workforce, build a design system in Figma, and create prototypes to validate designs, focusing on clarity and precision in complex financial environments.

About The Role

We are dealing with high-stakes financial environments where clarity and precision are paramount. We need a designer who loves untangling complexity. You are defining the architecture of how humans interact with an autonomous AI workforce.

You will own the design process from the whiteboard to the final pixel. You will work to define the system architecture, map out intricate user flows, and build a scalable design system in Figma. While we value high-fidelity visuals, we value clear thinking and strong information architecture even more.

What You'll Achieve

  • Translate complexity into clarity. You will take dense audit requirements and ambiguous AI capabilities and turn them into clear, linear, and logical user flows.

  • Own the Design System. You will build and maintain a robust component library that ensures consistency and speed as we scale our product surface.

  • Define Product Architecture. You will work with product and engineering to define the "physics" of the application—how objects relate to one another and how users navigate through large datasets.

  • Prototype to validate. You will bridge the gap between static design and reality by building prototypes (using Figma and AI tools) to test interactions before engineering builds them.

  • Collaborate on the vision. You will act as a strategic partner, visualizing the future roadmap and helping us make trade-off.

Skills You'll Need To Bring

  • 5+ years of product design experience. You have a portfolio showcasing end-to-end projects, ideally in complex B2B, SaaS, or enterprise software.

  • Mastery of Figma. You are highly organized. Your files are structured, your auto-layouts work, and you know how to build scalable component sets.

  • Strong Systems Thinking. You can hold the entire product architecture in your head. You understand how a change in one part of the flow impacts the rest of the system.

  • AI & Prototyping Fluency (Vibe Coding). You are comfortable using modern AI tools (Cursor, Claude, v0, or Replit) to rapid-prototype ideas or write basic code to communicate interaction details to engineers.

  • Visual Craft. You have a sharp eye for typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy. You can create interfaces that feel professional and trustworthy.

  • Effective Communication. You can articulate the "why" behind your design decisions and align stakeholders around a shared vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing for data-heavy interfaces (dashboards, spreadsheets, fintech).

  • Basic frontend knowledge (HTML/CSS/React) that helps you communicate better with developers.

  • Interest in how LLMs work and how to design for probabilistic outcomes (dealing with AI latency, errors, and confidence levels).

Location

  • Location: Palo Alto, CA.

  • Collaboration: We work in-person to move fast. We believe the best ideas happen when we are together at the whiteboard.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
