About the Role

Hinge Health is a company that recognizes the value of design – as a Senior Product Designer, you’ll join a tight-knit, collaborative team of designers who care deeply about creating cohesive and intuitive product experiences. Our team is at the center of solving impactful problems for millions of members who are managing their joint and muscle health, and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

In this role, you are identifying the "right" problems to solve and bridging complex business goals with user needs. You will own a broad product area within your pod and lead the end-to-end design process—from initial discovery and validated hypothesis testing to final high-fidelity execution and engineering handoff. You are expected to proactively reduce ambiguity and ensure that even the most complex user flows feel intuitive, contemporary, and simple.

We’re looking for designers that excel in the ability to simplify complex challenges into impactful user experiences, care deeply about the quality of their work (the "last 10%" of polish), and bring a genuine desire to learn about our members.

What You'll Accomplish
  • End-to-End Delivery: Deliver pod-level business outcomes by managing high-complexity projects from concept to launch.

  • Hypothesis-Driven Design: Turn ambiguous business goals into a roadmap of validated hypotheses and define success through measurable user outcomes.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to create an integrated experience across mobile and desktop platforms.

  • Optimization: Use A/B testing, user research, and data science insights to refine product strategies, improving time-to-value and member engagement.

  • Design at Scale: Use and contribute to our design system to build scalable components and patterns that support consistency and efficiency.

  • Champion Quality: Obsess over micro-interactions, edge cases, and visual polish to raise the perceived quality of your pod's output.

  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor and role model for less experienced designers, providing direct, actionable feedback to elevate team excellence.

Basic Qualifications
  • A minimum 2+ years of product design experience, including partnering with product and engineering teams.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Industrial, Product, Service design, HCI, or equivalent experience.

  • A polished portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of successful product launches, with strengths in both interaction and visual design.

  • Command of visual design principles (layout, iconography, typography) with a track record of advancing interface aesthetics.

  • Fidelity for resonance: Proficient in prototyping across multiple fidelities to test emotional resonance and communicate design intent.

  • Data fluency: Comfortable using research and data to shape, validate, and articulate design decisions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Design thinker for complex systems: Energized by thorny user needs and opportunities to simplify workflow inefficiencies.

  • AI Curiosity: Actively explore how emerging tools like generative AI can enhance workflows or define the logic for AI-driven features (addressing trust and transparency).

  • Multimedia Mastery: Experience designing seamlessly across mobile, desktop, and wearables.

  • Passion for Healthcare: Committed to helping others live healthier lives through design and technology, with relevant industry experience.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
