Samba is a media intelligence company. We know what the world is watching, reading, and thinking about — in real time, at scale, across every screen. Our data exists with the consent of over a billion people, organized into the most complete picture of consumer attention ever built. The biggest brands in the world use that picture to make smarter decisions. We think it’s the most interesting data asset on the planet, because it’s the most culturally relevant.
We're seeking an experienced Product Designer to establish and own the UI/UX strategy for our unified client reporting portal (Samba's Bridge) while ensuring brand cohesion across all touchpoints. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with direct access to C-level leadership, clients, and partners—offering the rare opportunity to build design strategy from the ground up in an organization ready for transformation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Product Design Ownership
- Take full ownership of UI/UX for our unified client reporting portal, transforming an internal interface into an intuitive, data-rich experience for clients and partners
- Conduct user research with clients and internal stakeholders to understand pain points, workflows, and opportunities
- Design end-to-end experiences from information architecture through high-fidelity prototypes and implementation specs
- Establish design systems, patterns, and standards that scale across the platform
Brand Integration
- Partner closely with marketing to ensure the portal authentically reflects our brand identity, voice, and values
- Bridge the gap between marketing assets and product experience, creating visual and experiential consistency
- Define how brand elements translate into functional product design
Strategy & Foundation Building
- Create our UI/UX strategy from scratch—you'll define the vision, approach, and roadmap, with support from your Chief Product Officer
- Present design rationale and recommendations directly to C-level executives
- Establish design processes, tools, and workflows that position us for future team growth
- Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization
Who You Are
- 5+ years in product design with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex B2B or data-heavy applications
- Deep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and visual design fundamentals
- Proven ability to work independently while influencing cross-functional teams
- Experience designing reporting, analytics, or dashboard interfaces is highly valuable
- Track record of building design strategy in early-stage or transformation environments
- Comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at creating structure where none exists
- Ability to balance quick wins with long-term vision
- Exceptional presentation skills with experience communicating design decisions to executive audiences
- Skilled at gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders and translating them into coherent design solutions
- Comfortable being the sole design voice in the room and confidently advocating for users
- Expert-level skills in Figma (or equivalent design tools)
- Understanding of front-end development constraints and opportunities
- Familiarity with design systems and component-based design
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE
- This isn't a role where you'll execute someone else's vision or work within established guidelines. You'll have genuine autonomy to shape our design direction, unusual access to decision-makers, and the accountability that comes with being the design owner. If you thrive on building rather than maintaining, this role offers that opportunity.
