Healthcare is broken at the first step: patients can't find the right care, understand what it costs, or access the medications they need. Mochi Health is fixing this.

We're building an AI-driven marketplace that makes healthcare discoverable—connecting patients to the right providers, transparent pharmacy pricing, and affordable medications. Over the past few years, we've grown rapidly by combining clinical expertise with technology that actually works for real people, not just hospital systems.

Our platform does what legacy healthcare can't: it gives patients transparent pricing before they pay, personalized medication management that follows them across providers, and long-term access to their own medical records. We're proving that healthcare can be more affordable, more human, and far more intuitive than what exists today.

Join a team that's rebuilding healthcare from the patient up. At Mochi Health, you'll work alongside people who value bold thinking, inclusive collaboration, and getting meaningful work into the world. If you want to do the most impactful work of your career, this is where to do it.

About the Role

Join Mochi Health as Senior Product Designer and help us build a product experience that makes healthcare feel approachable, trustworthy, and human. We don't have a traditional PM structure, designers here own product strategy, not just execution. You'll set direction, prioritize what matters, and drive the roadmap for your area, then design the work yourself. This role is for someone who wants real ownership: the freedom to decide what we build and why, paired with the craft to make it exceptional. This role reports to the Head of Design.

You’ll work with us on
  • Owning product strategy for your area, defining what problems matter, why, and in what order
  • Setting and driving your own roadmap, from opportunity sizing through launch and iteration
  • Partnering directly with engineering, growth, and leadership to align on priorities without a PM layer in between
  • Making the final call on tradeoffs: scope, sequencing, and what "good enough to ship" means
  • Designing end-to-end: flows, UI, and the systems thinking that ties it all together
  • Measuring what you shipped and using that to inform what's next
You’ll flourish in this role if you
  • Think like an owner, not an executor, you want to decide what gets built, not just how it looks
  • Can move fluidly between strategic thinking ("what should we solve, and why now") and hands-on execution ("what should this actually look like and how does it work")
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and can bring structure to a problem before a solution exists
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders and leadership, since you're often the one setting the narrative, not just receiving it
  • High bar for detail and craft that holds up under scrutiny, nothing feels templated or default
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in product design
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a high bar for craft and the reasoning behind them
  • Experience partnering directly with engineering to ship product
  • Track record of prioritizing a backlog or roadmap independently, and defending those calls to stakeholders
Ideal Experience
  • Comfort presenting strategy and rationale to executives or founders, not just design reviews
  • Background at a product-led company where design had a strong seat at the strategy table

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
