About us

Office Hours is an on-demand consulting platform that connects leading organizations with trusted experts across various domains. Experts earn income by sharing their knowledge through advisory work, projects, and AI model training. Our platform handles the complexities behind the scenes, screening, compliance, scheduling, and payments, so knowledge sharing stays focused on meaningful insights and real impact.

We’re a hyper-growth, profitable company, quickly expanding our expert network, launching new offices, and building new products. We are headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Brooklyn and Bangalore. Our customers include the fastest-growing digital health companies, technology companies, institutional investment firms, consulting firms, and AI Labs. We are backed by top marketplace investors and operators of companies like DoorDash, Airbnb, and Affirm.

What we believe

Human knowledge is the world’s most valuable asset. And yet, despite being more interconnected than ever, most knowledge still remains stuck in our heads, inaccessible and underutilized. Our vision is to make human knowledge easily accessible and infinitely scalable by building tools for the new age knowledge economy.

How we think about design

Design is foundational to Office Hours.

We believe quality comes from judgment, care, and attention to detail, especially when building complex systems. Speed matters, but not at the expense of coherence or craft. We aim to build products that feel clear, durable, and considered, not rushed or over-optimized.

We care deeply about visual design, typography, consistency, and restraint. We trust intuition alongside data, and we regularly ask whether something feels right, not just whether it ships or converts. We’d rather ship a smaller surface that feels finished than a larger one that doesn’t.

This role reports to the Head of Product, who has designed the platform end-to-end since the beginning and remains closely involved in product design.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer with strong taste and experience shipping high-quality products in complex environments.

This role is suited for someone with 5+ years of experience who can own meaningful product areas end-to-end, from shaping problems to refining execution. You’ll work closely with product and engineering partners to design thoughtful, scalable experiences across a two-sided marketplace where trust, clarity, and quality matter.

You’ll be expected to set a high bar for craft, help guide decisions through design judgment, and raise the overall quality of the product through your work and influence.

What you'll do
  • Own and design end-to-end experiences across expert, client, and internal product surfaces.

  • Partner with product and engineering to define problems, explore solutions, and ship features thoughtfully.

  • Translate complex requirements into clear user flows, interactions, and visual systems.

  • Craft high-quality UI with strong attention to typography, spacing, hierarchy, and brand.

  • Prototype and iterate quickly, then refine designs to a consistently high polish.

  • Contribute to and evolve shared patterns, systems, and design foundations.

  • Help raise the design bar through critique, feedback, and example.

What you bring
  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related role.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual design, typography, and taste across shipped products.

  • Experience designing complex workflows, systems, or multi-surface products.

  • Strong fundamentals in interaction design, usability, and information hierarchy.

  • Comfort working closely with engineers and product partners from concept through launch.

  • Clear communication skills and a principled approach to design decisions.

  • A consistent track record of care, judgment, and quality in your work.

Strong command of visuals, typography, and brand sensibility is strongly preferred.

This role is a good fit if you already hold a high bar for craft and want to work in an environment where quality is expected, protected, and shared.

Experience with B2B products, marketplaces, or workflow-heavy tools is a plus.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that some candidates, especially underrepresented groups such as women and people of color, are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Office Hours we believe in building a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every qualification in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. You could still be the right candidate for this or other roles at Office Hours!
