About Hike Medical

Hike Medical is building the defining company in musculoskeletal care. We sit at the intersection of AI, robotics, and healthcare, operating across three product lines: a proprietary AI-vision platform that turns a 30 second web-based foot scan into custom 3D-printed orthotics, an AI agent platform that automates the entire DME workflow from pre-visit processing to claims and revenue cycle, and SoleForge, our vertically integrated 3D printing factory producing custom medical devices at a scale the industry has never seen.

Our customers are both the largest employers on earth and the biggest companies in orthotics and prosthetics. On the clinical side, we're live across the industry's largest national providers. On the employer side, Fortune 50 companies trust us to protect their on-their-feet workforces.

But custom insoles are just the wedge. Our long-term vision is bionics: AI-designed, robotically manufactured orthotic and prosthetic devices at scale, replacing a fragmented, manual industry that hasn't changed in decades. Insoles today, full DME tomorrow, bionics by 2040. Read the full vision at bionics2040.com.

We've stealthily raised $22M through Seed and Series A backed by top-tier investors who invested early in companies like OpenAI, Anduril, and Mercury. We run a fast, results first, high ownership culture out of our new SF Rincon Hill office. If you want to work on problems that sit at the frontier of AI, manufacturing, and healthcare, this is the place.

The Role:

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our growing design team. You'll work across Hike's product suite, designing thoughtful, systems-based solutions for both our clinician partners and direct-to-consumer products. You'll own the design process end-to-end, collaborate closely with Product and Engineering, and help shape the standards and culture of a design team that's building something genuinely new.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, AI-first environment, comfortable navigating ambiguity, setting the bar for quality, and influencing product direction at every level.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ship some of the best design work of your career across complex, multi-surface products that directly impact people's health.

  • Own design end-to-end: gather requirements with Product, iterate on visuals, and guide Engineering through implementation.

  • Work in an AI-first environment, using modern tooling to move faster and smarter.

  • Collaborate with design and product leadership on strategic direction and long-term vision.

  • Champion Hike's Design Principles and Experience Pillars — and bring other designers and engineers along with you.

  • Help build and evolve a design culture that the whole company believes in.

The Experience:

  • 5+ years designing both desktop and mobile applications — ideally in complex, compliance-driven industries.

  • Excellent process thinking and know when to apply and not.

  • Experience with problem framing and collaboration workshops.

  • Deep experience with Design Systems you know when to use them, push them, and evolve.

  • Fluent in Figma, from early explorations to high-fidelity prototypes ready for engineering handoff.

  • Familiar with a broader suite of design tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Pitch.

The Craft:

  • Strong design, creative and visual skills.

  • Delivers the right artifacts at the right time, not over-engineering, not cutting corners.

  • Familiar with vibe coding tools like Cursor, Lovable, or genuinely excited to learn.

  • A strong communicator who proactively seeks feedback, shares a clear point of view, and brings people along.

  • A collaborative teammate who gives candid, caring feedback and receives it just as well.

  • Takes ownership, communicates clearly across teams, and brings leadership along on design decisions.

  • At ease in a fast-shipping engineering environment.

  • Experience designing in technical spaces developer tooling, security, infrastructure, or similar.

Bonus if You:

  • Comfortable with the basics of modern web development Git, JavaScript, etc.

  • Experience taking a design system from creation all the way to deployment.

  • Familiar with a broader suite of design tools we sometimes collaborate with marketing and growth too.

What we offer:

  • Competitive Compensation Salary + equity package

  • Healthcare Full healthcare coverage

  • Growth & Mentorship We'll build your path together

  • Flexible Time Off Unlimited PTO + flexible arrangements

  • Equipment & WFH Budget Gear and home office support

  • Meaningful Work Real impact on people's health

The salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
