Backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, Peregrine helps public safety organizations, state and local and governments, federal agencies, and private-sector institutions address society’s challenges with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Our AI-enabled platform turns siloed and disconnected data into operational intelligence — instantly surfacing mission-critical information to empower better, faster decisions that improve outcomes at every touchpoint. Today Peregrine supports hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, serving more than 125 million people — and we’re amplifying our impact as we expand into the enterprise and internationally.

Role

As part of the foundational Product Design team at Peregrine, you’ll help envision and amplify the digital future of public safety. Understanding our user needs is core to this role so you’ll have ample opportunities to see how Peregrine is used in the field. You’ll collaborate with talented Designers and Engineers to define the digital renaissance of public safety and delight users who seldom use outstanding software—transforming complex, data-dense workflows into intuitive solutions.

We’re looking for a deeply curious and inventive Product Designer to shape end-to-end experiences within a vast data platform—from research, to thinking through solutions, to owning the craft and finish of every detail of the product.

If this sounds exciting to you, please apply!

About you

  • Own broadly defined, high-impact design initiatives to deliver a well-executed and highly polished product that will delight users
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work well across Design, Engineering and Business Development teams, defining scope and prioritization to ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Participate in design critiques with the Design and Leadership teams
  • Partner with leadership to define the product strategy and craft a compelling narrative that inspires team members toward a unified outcome
  • Contribute to growing the Design discipline in a company that values exceptional user experience—this includes contributing to our design systems and asset library
  • We support a flexible hybrid environment that balances in-person collaboration and remote work

What we look for

  • 10+ years of experience* driving the design of software products while maintaining a relentless focus on the user experience
  • Exceptional interaction design, visual design and design thinking—with the ability to articulate your thought process
  • Passion for distilling complex problems into intuitive workflows while maintaining the quality and polish of the product
  • Ability to excel in a fast-moving, and sometimes unstructured environment
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch and Origami
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn and grow from a team of high-performing builders
  • Strong portfolio of design work that conveys an ability to ship successful products
  • Located in San Francisco and open to working in office

* We've learned that people hesitate to apply without quantifiable years of experience. However, what’s most important to us is the kind of experiences you’ve had and the skills you’ve developed along the way. Have well over 10 years of experience? That's great! Have fewer than 10 years, but feel you meet the other requirements? That's ok too! Please apply.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
