Lead a new healthcare AI use case from problem discovery through deployment, piloting, and scaled adoption across hospital partners. Define clinician problems, prototype solutions, establish clinical safety and success metrics, validate assumptions with data, influence pricing and packaging, and create repeatable product-development playbooks. The role works closely with the CEO, clinicians, data scientists, development-partner hospitals, and founding team.

About Healthleap

Every day, millions of hospitalized patients who need intervention are missed because clinicians simply can't see everything. Healthleap is building the AI operating system that helps care teams identify these missed patients, enabling them to improve health outcomes and generate millions of dollars. Healthleap is changing what is possible: closing gaps that traditional workflows and clinician capacity could never.

Over the past year, we've grown contracted revenue more than 13x, expanded rapidly across leading health systems, and now help care teams identify patients across millions of inpatient encounters.

We've raised $38M, backed by Sequoia, First Round and Hummingbird. SF-based and in person. And we're delivering results that are changing lives.

The problem space

By the time a patient is admitted to the hospital, their medical chart already holds about 95,000 words of notes - about six hours of reading - and every touchpoint from a clinician adds more. Doctors, nurses, and other clinicians walking into the room have a few minutes to synthesize what has changed, decide what the patient needs and what to check next, and move to the next room.

To know who needs them most, clinicians rely on a screening checklist filled in at admission, alongside static, rules-based alerts. On day one, standard screening catches only about 1 in 4 of the patients who need care. The other patients are caught later, after their condition worsens; by then, they heal more slowly and stay longer in the hospital.

What Healthleap has built

Healthleap’s AI reads every hospitalized patient’s full record, every day, and finds the patients who need care about four days earlier than standard screening.

Patients Healthleap flags are twice as likely to need care as those found by standard screening. Leading health systems including Cedars-Sinai, Penn Medicine, Emory, and others have measured that these patients heal faster and go home sooner, which frees beds for the next patient.

Hospitals stay and grow with us: we have 0 churn and have expanded from 3 to 50 hospitals in the last year. After seeing the results, our hospital partners have asked us to take on more use cases.

Backed by Sequoia’s managing partners Alfred Lin and Roelof Botha, First Round and Hummingbird, we’re building out our product team to meet that demand.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll join a small, close-knit team of former founders (including YC alumni), clinicians, physician executives, data scientists, researchers published in Nature, math olympiad medalists, and top performers from Palantir and the leading healthcare AI companies.

What you will do

As a founding member of Healthleap’s product team, you’ll report directly to our CEO to stand up the next use case on our platform. You’ll have access to enthusiastic development-partner hospitals, best-in-class technology and the data access to build quickly.

  • Take the next use case from day one to deployed workflow: work alongside the founding team and our development partners, define the problem and the solution, build a prototype within weeks, run the pilot, and scale it across our hospital partners within months.

  • Pick the right problems to solve for clinicians and other users who are hard to reach.

  • Define what success looks like before the pilot starts, and set the bar for accuracy and clinical safety with our clinicians and data scientists.

  • Validate assumptions fast, with data you pull yourself and prototypes you build.

  • Prove the value and influence new commercial models, including pricing and packaging.

  • Turn what you learn into the playbook for every use case after yours.

What you bring
  • Experience taking a difficult problem from zero to real adoption.

  • You learn new domains in months and have an extreme growth mindset.

  • Creativity and resourcefulness in finding information that is hard to come by.

  • Technical depth: you have worked as an engineer, or hold a computer science or engineering degree.

  • Willingness to spend regular time on site at our partner hospitals.

  • A plus if you have built consumer product, founded a company, or worked in healthcare.

If you’re excited by the mission and bring most of what’s above, we’d like to hear from you, even if your background doesn’t match every line.

Compensation and benefits
  • $180,000–$250,000 base plus meaningful equity

  • 100% covered healthcare premiums

  • Unlimited PTO, with a recommended minimum of 20 days

  • 4% 401(k) match

  • Laptop and office budget
