Reports to: Director of Product Management & UX

Location: Remote (US or Canada)

About the Role

Sur La Table's product team is three PMs covering the full technology landscape. This role anchors the Retail Platform & Data Infrastructure capability area — the back-office systems, data foundations, and integrations that keep commerce operations running — while flexing into Commerce and Customer Intelligence work as priorities shift.

As Senior Product Manager, Platform, Integrations, and Data, you will drive execution across the systems, standards, and governance that make data reliable, platforms scalable, and operations never the bottleneck. Success in the first six to twelve months means establishing product rigor and data governance where none exists today, improving integration reliability across core retail systems, and delivering measurable gains in fulfillment efficiency.

This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.

What You'll Do

    Platform execution and roadmap contribution

  • Drive execution against the product roadmap for core retail platforms, integrations, and data foundations; contribute to roadmap prioritization in partnership with the Director of Product.
  • Translate complex operational and business needs into scalable, reusable platform capabilities rather than bespoke solutions.
  • Retail platforms and fulfillment enablement

  • Lead product execution for OMS-adjacent capabilities including order lifecycle management, inventory visibility, fulfillment orchestration, routing, splits, cancellations, and returns.
  • Data foundations and integration architecture

  • Define and evolve integration patterns, APIs, and data contracts across OMS, POS, ERP, WMS, CEP, CDP, and analytics platforms.
  • Own requirements for eventing, instrumentation, and data quality standards; define and maintain the governance model for core data domains (customer, order, product, inventory).
  • Partner with Data and Analytics teams to enable reliable reporting, agent-enabled insights, self-serve analytics, and downstream activation for experimentation, measurement, and AI use cases.
  • Vendor evaluation and platform decisions

  • Research, evaluate, and scorecard platform and vendor solutions with a critical eye on architecture, scalability, integration complexity, and total cost of ownership; provide feasibility analysis to inform build-vs-buy decisions.
  • AI and automation judgment

  • Identify where AI or automation can reduce operational cost, improve data quality, or accelerate fulfillment outcomes. Evaluate solutions pragmatically and make the case for prioritizing them.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of enterprise commerce backbone experience working with order management, PIM/catalog, warehouse and fulfillment, store POS, replenishment, demand forecasting, or shipping/rate-shopping systems — with a clear understanding of how these systems interact and where the biggest leverage points are.
  • Data and process automation experience using analytics or predictive models (not just manual rules) to improve processes such as sourcing rules, allocation, picking/packing flows, replenishment, or returns.
  • Technical fluency: comfortable with SQL and data analysis; working knowledge of APIs, data modeling, and integration patterns; able to collaborate with engineers on event-driven architectures and microservices.
  • Systems thinking and cross-functional leadership: ability to synthesize complex operational processes into clear requirements and drive alignment across engineering, data, operations, and business teams. Experience defining OKRs and KPIs and using data to prioritize.
  • Strong business sense and comfort operating with ambiguity and incomplete information on a small team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with AI-native tools, workflow automation (e.g., n8n), or MCP integrations; ability to prototype and test ideas quickly without waiting on engineering.
  • Familiarity with vendor evaluation, build-vs-buy analysis, and building business cases for technology investments.

Why Join

The people who do best here are builders. They take ownership, move fast, and want to see the direct impact of their work.

  • Real Ownership, Real Impact: This is one of three PM roles covering Sur La Table's full technology landscape. You will own the back-office systems that everything else depends on.
  • AI-First Environment: Work on a team that uses AI as a genuine upgrade to quality and speed, from pulling live context to spinning up prototypes to automating repetitive workflows.
  • Greenfield Opportunity: The systems exist. The product rigor, data governance, and integration reliability don’t yet. You’ll build that foundation with direct visibility to senior leadership.
  • Unmatched Business Breadth: On a three-person product team covering SLT’s full technology landscape, you won’t stay in one lane. You’ll develop deep fluency across back-office systems, commerce, customer data, and store operations — the kind of cross-functional exposure that takes years to accumulate elsewhere.
  • Competitive Benefits (US): Paid time off policies, 401(k) match, medical/dental/vision and a variety of supplemental policies, and employee discounts across our portfolio of brands.
  • Competitive Benefits (Canada): Paid time off policies, RRSP match, medical, dental, and vision coverage, a variety of supplemental benefit options, and employee discounts across our portfolio of brands.

Interview Process

    1. Recruiter Screen: A 30-minute conversation with our recruiting team to align on the role, your background, and what you are looking for.
    2. Hiring Manager Interview: A conversation with the Director of Product Management & UX focused on your back-office platform experience, how you operate on a small team, and your approach to data foundations and integrations.
    3. Domain Interview: A deeper conversation with the VP of Product focused on back-office systems knowledge, vendor and platform decisions, and how you reason through complex operational tradeoffs.
    4. Potential Take-Home Project
    5. Cross-Functional Panel:  A conversation with peers across product, engineering, and retail operations to discuss how you collaborate across functions, communicate technical tradeoffs to business stakeholders, and work across capability areas.
    6. Reference Checks: Conducted in parallel with the final stages where possible.
    7. Offer: We move quickly for the right candidate.

Interview process is subject to change. Any updates will be communicated promptly and clearly.
