About PayZen

PayZen exists to make care accessible and affordable for every patient. Our products help patients access, afford, and navigate the financial side of care, while reducing administrative burden on providers and improving their financial health. We are trusted by a rapidly growing number of health systems, hospitals, and physician groups, and backed by NEA, SignalFire, Viola Group, and 7Wire Ventures.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own a product area end-to-end. This is a hands-on IC role where you are the expert on your surface. You know the acute problems patients and providers face, the workflows, the data, and the edge cases cold. You find the problems that matter, ship solutions with craft, and make the people around you better.

You will operate across patient-facing, provider-facing, and data surfaces, depending on where you are deployed. You will be expected to use Claude Code actively in your day-to-day work and to visibly expand what you can do every quarter.

This role is based in our San Francisco headquarters, with in-office days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Responsibilities
  • Own your surface. Know the patient and provider workflows, constraints, and pain points cold. Be the person others come to when they need to understand how something works and where it breaks.

  • Find the problems that matter. Understand why a patient or provider pain point matters now and what it costs to leave it unsolved.

  • Deliver with craft and systems thinking. Build solutions that hold up under scrutiny and make the people around you better.

  • Go from ambiguity to clarity - quickly. Default to async, write sharply, and when something is stuck, own getting it unstuck.

Requirements
  • 4+ years in product, with a track record of owning a surface from problem through delivery and increasing scope over time.

  • You've shipped consumer financial products end-to-end. Direct experience with credit or lending — owning loss rate, approval rate, or a similar P&L metric — is strongly preferred.

  • Strong data instincts: you define success before you build, measure it, and design products that get better with use.

  • You operate with urgency and own outcomes, not just deliverables.

  • Background in healthcare and the patient financial experience is a strong plus.

  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
