Millennium Space Systems (MSS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Scheduler (Level 4) to join the MSS team in El Segundo, CA!
The Production Scheduler will support manufacturing execution across multiple programs and work centers. This role is accountable for establishing, maintaining, and owning production schedules and ECDs (Estimated/Expected Completion Dates) to ensure on-time delivery of program commitments. The Production Scheduler partners closely with Supply Chain, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, and other cross-functional teams to align material availability, capacity, and priorities.
This role is part of the Master Production Scheduling function and represents a more senior position, requiring demonstrated experience in complex manufacturing scheduling environments, preferably aerospace.
Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.
Position Responsibilities:
Schedule Ownership & Execution
  • Own and maintain end-to-end production schedules, including work center schedules, build plans, and key milestones
  • Establish, manage, and be accountable for ECDs and schedule commitments across assigned programs and work centers
  • Develop, baseline, and continuously maintain executable production schedules that reflect material availability, capacity, and labor constraints
  • Monitor schedule performance, identify risks and delays, and proactively develop recovery plans or schedule alternatives
  • Communicates schedule status, risks, and impacts clearly to program teams and leadership

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Supply Chain to align production schedules with material availability, lead times, and procurement constraints
  • Partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and other functional teams to ensure schedule feasibility and execution alignment
  • Support program planning and execution activities across all phases of production, from initial build planning through delivery

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks within current scheduling and execution processes
  • Recommend, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance schedule accuracy, execution efficiency, and cross-functional alignment
  • Support the transition away from manual or interim tools (e.g., spreadsheets) toward system-based scheduling and execution where applicable
  • Contribute to standard work, scheduling best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives within Manufacturing

Tools & Systems
  • Develop and manage schedules using advanced scheduling tools such as APS systems, Microsoft Project, or equivalent production scheduling software
  • Ensure schedules are properly integrated with enterprise systems (e.g., MRP/ERP) and serve as a reliable source of truth for execution
  • Support data-driven decision making through accurate schedule analysis and reporting

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing scheduling and/or production planning
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet aggressive schedules
  • Experience using Integrated Scheduling tools such as: Open Plan Professional, Microsoft Project Professional, Enterprise Project Management, or a similar tool
  • 3+ years' experience performing scheduling in a production environment utilizing a Manufacture Resource Planning (MRP) system
  • Experience collaborating across functions and organizational levels
  • Analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years' experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Advance Planning Software (APS) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Experience in aerospace or space systems manufacturing, including low-rate or high-mix production environments
  • Ability to balance technical, capacity, and schedule constraints to meet customer and program commitments
  • Experience supporting production in non-traditional or agile aerospace environments
  • AACE, PMI, or other relevant professional certifications

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $106,250-$143,750
Millennium is DDTC-registered, ITAR-compliant Company. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
