About the Role

HP IQ is building intelligent products that combine AI, connected devices, and cloud services to create new user experiences. We are looking for a Beta Test Program Manager to build and lead our end-to-end user validation function, ensuring our products are shaped by real-world feedback throughout development.

In this role, you will design and operate programs that span internal alpha testing, customer pilots, and external beta releases. You will serve as the voice of the customer across product development, helping teams translate user feedback and usage data into actionable insights.

This is a highly hands-on role where you will both define how validation programs operate and run them day-to-day. You will work closely with product, engineering, and design teams to recruit and manage tester communities, implement validation tools and processes, and ensure customer feedback meaningfully influences product decisions.

What You Might Do

  • Design and run end-to-end validation programs, including internal alpha testing, pilot programs with customers, and external beta releases.
  • Build and scale a Voice of Customer (VoC) program to capture and operationalize user feedback across product development.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage beta testers and pilot customers, building segmented communities and driving strong engagement - including building segmented tester communities, driving engagement and retention, and ensuring high-quality participation
  • Develop success metrics, reporting frameworks, and feedback loops that translate user insights into product decisions.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to ensure customer feedback informs roadmap priorities and feature development.
  • Implement and manage tools, processes, and infrastructure needed to support scalable beta testing and user validation programs.
  • Synthesize telemetry, survey data, and qualitative feedback into clear, prioritized recommendations with supporting evidence
  • Support validation efforts for AI-driven features, connected devices, and cross-platform ecosystem experiences.

Essential Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience running beta programs, user validation initiatives, or customer-facing program/product management functions.
  • Proven experience building and operating validation or beta testing programs from the ground up.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence product, engineering, and design teams.
  • Experience recruiting and managing tester communities or pilot customers.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience synthesizing telemetry, usage data, and survey feedback into actionable insights.
  • Experience using user research or feedback platforms such as Qualtrics, Centercode, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience validating hardware and software products such as connected devices, wearables, or IoT products.
  • Exposure to AI or machine learning-enabled products and platforms.
  • Technical background or strong technical fluency working with engineering teams.
  • Experience working in both startup environments and larger organizations.

Salary range: $130,000- $220,000
