Optum is seeking a talented and motivated individual to deploy technology solutions to our clients in the healthcare market. The ideal candidate will have experience in Healthcare IT system implementations. This position requires a blend of project management, client management as well as process and product knowledge. This candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. They should enjoy working with a team, interacting with clients and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
This position is within the OI Delivery PMO Office team that manages a large volume of simultaneous implementations Rev cycle products and Clinical Decision Support. This OI Delivery organization is tasked with deploying these technologies quickly, efficiently, at a high level of quality, and to the delight of our customers. The Senior Implementation manager plays a critical role, both internally and externally, in support of these goals.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead implementations as the client-facing project manager for complex, single and or multi-program implementations. This includes the creation, management, and oversight of project plans to achieve high quality, on-time implementations that result in a satisfied, referenceable client as well as meet established KPI Metrics
  • Provide expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation and other areas based on established project management techniques
  • Develop project artifacts, following documented business processes. These will be developed in partnership with project leadership and stakeholders
  • Manage project schedules and work with team to identify and achieve delivery dates, including developing detailed project plans, dependencies, predecessors, and milestones
  • Proactively identify risks and issues using metrics and stakeholder feedback to avoid urgent escalations
  • Assign individual responsibilities within the project team and track delivery against assigned tasks
  • Drive delivery process to ensure various methodologies come together and team meets agreed-upon scope within committed timeframes
  • Preparing detailed and accurate status reports on a weekly basis, mitigating delays to the implementation, and escalating issues to the leadership team when appropriate
  • Provide accurate and timely project reporting to both internal teams and external client stakeholders
  • Tracking milestones/deliverables and reinforcing the scope of work outlined in the contract
  • Relentlessly collaborating across, and communicating with, a myriad of external and internal stakeholders while serving as the primary liaison between the client and technical/operational resources
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with engagement leadership to provide understanding of project parameters and issues
  • Looking for ways to constantly improve overall performance including the development and continuous improvement of the methodology. Solve unique and complex problems with broad impacts on the business

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of project management experience in client-facing implementations
  • 3+ years in the healthcare industry
  • 2+ years of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience
  • Experience with front-end revenue cycle operations (patient access, registration, eligibility, scheduling)
  • Experience working with healthcare data (claims, billing, clinical)
  • Experience with Smartsheet or MS Project
  • Solid client relationship and stakeholder management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Proven solid communication, risk management, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP certification
  • Salesforce experience
  • Experience with large datasets and data analysis
  • Enterprise healthcare systems experience
  • Smartsheet proficiency
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
