DroneDeploy, the robotics and visual intelligence platform for the built world that is used on over 3 million jobsites across more than 180 countries, is now a part of Procore Technologies Inc., the global provider of construction management software. As a leader in reality capture and robotic automation, DroneDeploy delivers the visual intelligence that bridges the built world—from active construction sites to operational assets—and the digital world, providing critical, real-time visibility into daily operations.

Procore Technologies is the leading technology partner for every stage of construction. We empower construction teams to drive efficiency and mitigate risk through actionable AI & data-driven insights. For over 20 years, we have been transforming the industry with purpose-built solutions for construction professionals and we’re looking for talented people to help us build together.

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to own the quality bar for everything the Aerial Capture team ships. As the Senior QA Engineer on our Aerial Capture team, you will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and field QA teams to define test programs, lead acceptance testing on high-risk workflows, and ensure high quality across our drone software and hardware integrations. Your strengths in hardware/mobile QA, automated test frameworks, and AI-driven testing workflows will drive your success.

This role will be based in Bay Area, CA or Austin, TX. Travel 1–2 times per quarter to customer sites and/or field locations is required to run flight tests and validate real-world workflows.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute daily flight testing for regression, acceptance, and validation, operating with access to sufficient flight space (10+ acres) to ensure reliable real-world data capture.

  • Define and execute comprehensive test plans for new software features and releases, identifying potential edge cases early to maintain product quality.

  • Coordinate QA team programs, schedule testing workflows, and create clear documentation to optimize throughput and eliminate testing bottlenecks.

  • Enforce bug reporting standards (repro steps, severity, exposure, logs, media) to streamline issue triage and resolution across product and engineering teams.

  • Manage regression testing suites across Dock, Android, and iOS platforms, executing playbooks that validate core end-to-end user workflows.

  • Implement AI-first approach and automation tooling to accelerate test design, regression maintenance, bug triage, and first-pass code resolutions.

  • Track and analyze quality metrics—including post-release bugs, escalation trends, and throughput—to optimize testing focus and reduce deployment risk.

  • Maintain device/drone inventory, firmware tracking, test case management (Qase), and internal QA environments to prevent operational disruptions.

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience in quality engineering or QA for hardware, mobile, or autonomous/robotics products.

  • Hands-on experience testing mobile applications (Android/iOS) using frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, or Detox.

  • Proven ability to write code or scripts (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar) to build test automation and streamline manual testing processes.

  • FAA Part 107 Certificate (or the ability to obtain certification upon hire).

  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools for test setup, defect analysis, log triage, or code-level bug evaluation.

  • Practical experience managing test suites via platforms like Qase and defect tracking systems like Jira.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins), API testing, and embedded firmware or RTK/PPK workflows.

Strong-fit Background Might Include

  • Robotics, Geospatial, or Autonomous Systems QA Engineering

  • Mobile & Embedded Hardware Quality Assurance

  • Drone Operations & Field Testing Management

  • Automated Software Test Engineering (Python/TypeScript)
