About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter, AI & Engineering to help build the teams behind our AI-powered platform. This is a high-impact, individual-contributor recruiting role for someone who thrives on owning complex technical searches end to end and wants to operate at a strategic level.

You'll partner closely with engineering leaders and hiring managers to translate ambitious hiring plans into a rigorous, creative sourcing and closing strategy. You'll be the recruiting expert in the room — shaping role scoping, calibrating interview loops, and closing exceptional candidates in one of the most competitive technical talent markets in the world.

Success in this role requires deep technical recruiting craft, sharp market instincts, and the resilience to run multiple senior-level searches simultaneously in a fast-moving AI company.

This position is 100% in-office (Monday through Friday) at our Mountain View headquarters.

What You'll Work On

Full-Cycle Technical Recruiting

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for high-impact Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, and Infrastructure roles, from senior IC to staff/principal level.
  • Partner with hiring managers to scope roles, define success profiles, and build hiring plans aligned to team priorities.
  • Manage a high volume of concurrent, often highly specialized searches without sacrificing quality or candidate experience.

Sourcing & Market Strategy

  • Develop and execute creative, proactive sourcing strategies to identify and engage passive talent from leading AI companies and top-tier Silicon Valley technology firms.
  • Build and maintain a strong personal network and talent pipeline across AI/ML, backend, infrastructure, and platform engineering.
  • Stay current on compensation benchmarks, competitor hiring trends, and the broader AI talent landscape to advise hiring managers with real market intelligence.

Candidate & Hiring Manager Experience

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, guiding them through role definition, interview design, and offer strategy.
  • Deliver a consistently exceptional candidate experience, from first outreach through offer and close, including for senior and executive-level technical candidates.
  • Maintain a high hiring bar through structured interview processes, calibrated scorecards, and rigorous technical assessment coordination.

Recruiting Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Use recruiting data and pipeline metrics to identify bottlenecks and continuously improve time-to-fill, offer-accept rates, and funnel quality.
  • Champion AI-powered recruiting tools, sourcing automation, and process improvements to increase efficiency without sacrificing rigor.
  • Contribute to employer branding efforts that help NewsBreak stand out to top technical talent.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical recruiting experience, with a strong track record of full-cycle recruiting for software engineers, AI/ML engineers, infrastructure engineers, or other highly competitive technical talent.
  • Experience recruiting for high-growth Silicon Valley technology companies or AI-first organizations.
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple senior/complex searches at once, with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Strong sourcing skills, including creative, proactive outreach to passive candidates through multiple channels.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility with technical hiring managers and senior engineering leaders.
  • Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Willingness to work on-site five days per week in Mountain View.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting for frontier AI, LLM, agentic AI, or generative AI teams.
  • Experience closing senior IC, staff, or principal-level technical candidates in competitive, multi-offer situations.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered recruiting/sourcing tools and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Greenhouse, Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, or similar).
  • Experience supporting globally distributed engineering teams.
  •  Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
