Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability and lifetime of our iron-air packs and deployed systems.This role reports into our Systems Reliability team, in Berkeley CA. As part of our Systems Reliability team, you will support reliability test development and design for reliability for several of our pack level subsystems. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

What you'll do:
  • Advise on Design for Reliability (DfR) for critical mechanical subsystems that support iron-air battery operation, participating in cross-functional design failure analyses (DFMEAs)

  • Translate reliability risks into actionable test plans to uncover failure mechanisms, determine root causes, and establish methods to accelerate failure rates in test. Tests will focus on liquid and gas handling sub-systems, and the electro-mechanical components that support iron air battery operation.

  • Be a champion for safety

What you'll bring:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Reliability Engineering or related field with 4+ years of industry experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing new tests to evaluate performance and/ or reliability of mechanical systems

  • Experience with liquid and gas handling systems (pumps, pipes, ducts, fans, etc) is a plus

  • Familiar with developing accelerated lifetime tests to assess component reliability across a range of operating conditions

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills within a group of peers and the broader organization, including remote team members
