Job overview:

We are a remote-first healthcare and technology company, seeking an experienced engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Platform Engineering team, you will play a role in designing, building, and maintaining the systems and infrastructure necessary to support Omada’s mission. The Platform Engineering team is responsible for both the operational integrity of our infrastructure, as well as DevOps processes which help other engineers get more done with less pain.

About you:

You work thoughtfully with your teammates, partners, and Omada members. You are excited to work cross-functionally with a variety of people, and you possess diverse strengths and experience. You are comfortable working directly with stakeholders to design solutions and drive technical decisions for delivery.  You are motivated to learn new technologies, and can be trusted to plan, develop, and deliver exemplary technical work.  You are humble and flexible in your thinking, and care about providing the best possible solutions. You have years of hands-on experience building scalable cloud infrastructure, and you know how to work with other talented people to get big things done.

Your impact:

  • You will become a key part of the development and operation of Omada’s digital health program Architecture & Infrastructure.
  • You will play a daily role building and scaling our platform one piece at a time, supporting our delivery of a personalized experience to program members, while empowering our health coaches to deliver effective interventions
  • You will work closely (including pair programming) with the rest of the Platform team, collaborating frequently with internal customers from our product engineering teams, InfoSec, IT, and beyond
  • You will build cross-functional relationships with software engineers, data engineers, and technical program managers to understand their needs, and to deliver solutions to improve their working lives
  • You will manage highly available services in our EKS clusters and on standalone EC2 hosts, with a modern approach to designing for resiliency and cross-regional redundancy
  • You will work with engineers to design and improve developer tooling and capability, supporting use cases like secrets management, automations, cloud environments, and access management
  • You will mentor and guide the professional and technical development of team members.
  • You will maintain and enhance our self-hosted Gitlab-based VCS and CI/CD infrastructure.

You will love this job if you:

  • Want to make a difference in how people manage real life health problems.
  • Want to work in an agile, test-driven, pair programming, continuous delivery environment.
  • Want to work with modern technologies including EKS, Terraform, Datadog, and GitLab.
  • Love to mentor and learn from your teammates – training and collaborating with developers to write great code and solve problems together.

Requirements for this role:

  • 5+ years of working experience designing and building diverse AWS cloud architectures
  • Experience building and operating a Kubernetes cluster
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience working with Datadog application performance monitoring, custom metrics, and logs
  • Experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting persistent virtual Linux hosts and volumes
  • Experience building, deploying, and orchestrating Docker images and containers.
  • Great communication skills – both written and verbal. Skilled at writing documentation for others.
  • Readiness to run towards fires as part of an on-call rotation.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience managing self-hosted Gitlab
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL
  • Experience writing Golang
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with generous annual cash bonus
  • Equity grants
  • Employee stock purchasing plan (ESPP)
  • Remote first work from home culture
  • Flexible Time Off to help you rest, recharge, and connect with loved ones
  • Generous parental leave
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (and above market employer contributions)
  • 401k retirement savings plan
  • Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA)
  • Mental Health Support Solutions
  • ...and more!
