What you'll be doing
  • Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
  • Lead projects and efforts to develop and maintain local and cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code philosophy.
  • Lead efforts to further automate cloud and local infrastructure operations with tools.
  • Help build and integrate security as part of the infrastructure.
  • Architect and maintain Roku’s codified next-generation cloud infrastructure, working with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Take the lead on other important infrastructure projects, with the support and collaboration of the team.
  • Take the lead efforts to implement new technologies and best practices etc.
  • Take the lead and mentor other members of the team to define and adopt new or improve existing processes and procedures.
You are required to have
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in the position, or in a related occupation.

Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure tools to enable automation and streamline infrastructure management.
  2. At least one high-level scripting language.
  3. Architecting, maintaining, and coding next-generation cloud infrastructure, working with the following technologies: Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
  4. Using project management tools Jira and version control system Git.
  5. Utilizing observability and monitoring tools Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system health, optimize performance, and facilitate efficient troubleshooting.
  6. At least one cloud technology from the following: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  7. Designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.
  8. Software development life cycle and quality control practices.

Up to one day per week telecommuting may be permitted.

For California Only - The annual salary for this position is between $351,900 - $527,000.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.
