About Wispr

Wispr Flow is making it as effortless to interact with your devices as talking to a close friend.

Today, Wispr Flow is the first voice dictation platform people use more than their keyboards — because it understands you perfectly on the first try. It’s context-aware, personalized, and works anywhere you can type, on desktop or phone.

In 2026, in addition to dictation, we're focused on building native actions — an agentic framework that understands you, and works reliably.

We’re a team of AI researchers, designers, growth experts, and engineers rethinking human-computer interaction from the ground up. We value high-agency teammates who communicate openly, obsess over users, and sweat the details. We thrive on spirited debate, truth-seeking, and real-world impact.

We're grown our revenue +150% every quarter for the last 4 quarters, and have raised $81M from Tier 1 VC firms and other well-known angels.

About the Role

As a software engineer at Wispr, you’ll play a crucial role in building the first capable, habit forming voice interface that scales to a billion users. Members of our technical staff are responsible for prototyping and designing new features of our voice interface, building infrastructure to handle <500ms LLM inference for millions of requests from everywhere around the world, and scaling the personalization of our speech models and LLMs.

What You'll Do
  • Build high-quality, tasteful product experiences across our native macOS and Windows apps, taking features from idea to shipped with strong attention to detail

  • Own entire product surfaces end-to-end, including the UI, the underlying logic, agentic harnesses, and backend services.

  • Obsess over the feel of the product: latency, animations, agentic quality - the small details that separate good software from great software

  • Use AI tools actively in your day-to-day work to move faster, prototype ideas quickly, and raise the quality of what you ship

  • Contribute to product decisions, not just execution — you have a point of view on what we should build and why

  • Raise the quality bar through code review, documentation, and engineering practices that the whole team benefits from

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Strong experience building native applications on macOS, Windows, or a combination — you care about platform conventions and know how to work with them

  • You have high product taste: you notice when something feels off, and you know how to fix it

  • Comfortable working across the stack within a product surface — you don't stop at the UI layer if the problem goes deeper

  • You move fast and ship often; you have a bias for getting real things in front of users over waiting for perfection

  • You use AI coding tools fluently and have a point of view on how to get the most out of them

  • Experience with performance-sensitive UIs is a plus, as Wispr lives on top of every app a user has open and responsiveness is core to the experience

  • Bonus: experience building accessibility features, system-level integrations, or consumer products with strong user retention

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
