Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Product Engineering Manager to lead the custom software product team, owning and executing the application suite roadmap. This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering innovative solutions for solar construction management, as well as performance monitoring and analytics. You will collaborate with product stakeholders, develop a product strategy, and ensure our applications are scalable and leading the industry in user experience and feature offerings.
This role is fully remote. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Product Roadmap Ownership

  • Achieve an expert level understanding of how our custom software systems are designed, integrated with other business platforms, and utilized

  • Collaborate within Digital Solutions to define and evolve product strategy, applying industry research and experience

  • Assist in building the custom software roadmap according to product strategy, prioritized business/client needs, and resource availability; must be able to evaluate development efforts against business ROI and advise on optimal development strategy

  • Ensure our products keep pace with evolving field technologies and hardware: construction process improvement, automation, PV and BESS systems and sensors

  • Ensure the team’s software solutions are meeting business goals and users' needs

Lead Feature Design and Collaboration with Stakeholders

  • Take a leading role in feature development lifecycle: establish and adhere to project timelines, gather input to construct requirement deliverables, interface with the software team, participate in validation, approve and communicate feature releases, support incremental improvements, and assist with technical documentation, process change, and training as needed

  • Design new features/systems: collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate surrounding processes, present process improvement solutions, create requirements diagrams and documentation, and assist in design of UIUX (incl. complex data visualization)

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of the in-application manual as well as other team documentation

Team Leadership

  • Own and continuously improve the product workflow, integrating with and adhering to the team’s development workflow

  • Manage a small team; mentor team members and foster career growth

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technology field

  • Demonstrated experience with a language such as Python, Rust, C/C++/C#, R, or TypeScript; some experience with databases preferred

  • 7+ years of software product engineering experience, including business process engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex systems on the job and devise creative solutions

  • Demonstrated product design, roadmapping, data analytics, data visualization, and UI/UX design experience

  • Experience using collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, and Slack

  • Positive attitude, promotes a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, dependability, flexibility, and exploration of new technology

  • Ability to multitask between multiple complex projects and operational requests

  • Strong communication (incl. technical writing), leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Operates autonomously with ability and initiative to identify problems and working solutions

  • Excellent attention to detail

Benefits:

Compensation Range:

$151,375.00 - $189,219.00
