Senior Solution Engineer, Agile Platforms

The Senior Solution Engineer, Agile Platforms serves as a senior technical leader for the Agile Platforms ecosystem, providing deep expertise across Jira, Confluence, Targetprocess, integrations, automation, platform administration, and solution architecture. This role partners closely with Product Owners, Platform Engineers, Enterprise Architecture, and technology partners to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and sustainable technical solutions.
The Senior Solution Engineer combines solution design with hands on engineering and platform expertise. The role leads complex integrations and automation, establishes technical standards, guides engineering teams, and helps strengthen internal platform capabilities while reducing reliance on external vendors for technical solutioning.

Responsibilities
• Define and maintain solution architecture and technical designs for Jira, Confluence, Targetprocess, and connected platforms.
• Partner with Product Owners to understand business needs and translate requirements into scalable, sustainable technical solutions.
• Lead the design and delivery of integrations, automations, and complex platform enhancements.
• Provide hands on technical leadership, mentorship, and solution guidance to the Platform Engineering Team.
• Serve as a senior technical resource for complex configuration, integration, automation, administration, and troubleshooting needs.
• Establish and maintain technical standards, engineering practices, reusable patterns, and solution design principles.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture and technology vendors to align solutions with organizational standards and platform capabilities.
• Evaluate technical options and recommend solutions that balance business requirements, platform capabilities, security, scalability, maintainability, and operational support.
• Maintain solution architecture, integration, configuration, and other technical documentation.
• Strengthen internal engineering knowledge and capabilities to reduce dependency on external vendors for ongoing platform solutioning and support.

Preferred Qualifications
• Deep expertise administering and configuring Jira, Confluence, Targetprocess, and associated marketplace applications.
• Strong experience with platform administration, user management, access management, and identity integration, including onboarding, provisioning, and access control processes.
• Advanced scripting experience using JavaScript, JSON, REST APIs, ScriptRunner, automation frameworks, and data transformation techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret API documentation, configure integrations, troubleshoot API interactions, and enable complex business use cases across multiple platforms.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise integrations, automations, and data flows.
• Strong understanding of SaaS platform architecture, security, scalability, and maintainability considerations.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical designs and engineering solutions.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentorship, and solution guidance to engineers and technical teams.
• Ability to effectively partner with vendors and support organizations, ask probing questions, diagnose complex technical challenges, and drive issues through resolution.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks and product centric operating models.
• Strong communication, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Positioning Within the Organization
• The Senior Solution Engineer serves as a senior technical counterpart to the Product Owners.
• Product Owners define business needs, priorities, and desired outcomes.
• The Senior Solution Engineer translates those needs into solution approaches, technical designs, integration strategies, and implementation recommendations.
• The Platform Engineering Team delivers and supports platform solutions, with the Senior Solution Engineer providing hands on expertise and technical guidance for complex work.
• Enterprise Architecture provides consultative guidance and alignment with enterprise standards.
• The Senior Solution Engineer operates as both a senior technical leader and active contributor, remaining hands on with complex platform solutions, integrations, automation, administration, and technical problem solving.
Pay Transparency
• The salary range for this position is $114,000 to $120,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn additional incentive earnings. Actual pay is based on various factors including, but not limited to, the budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
