What you'll do
As a Solutions Engineer, you are the technical anchor throughout the sales cycle - from pre-sales to post-sales. You will partner with enterprise prospects and customers to educate, empower, and ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform. Leveraging your expertise in Cloudflare's global network, you will design best-fit solutions, onboard new customers via video, in-person sessions, or documentation, and support their long-term growth.
You will act as a trusted advisor on web and mobile security and performance - developing firewall rules from logs, optimizing caching and delivery strategies, and building or adapting internal tools and scripts to meet customer needs. As the technical advocate for customers, you will collaborate across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support teams. Your focus on customer success will drive you to create scalable solutions and deliver lasting impact.

  • You are passionate about technology, able to simplify complex concepts, and eager to build and experiment.
  • You enjoy solving customer challenges and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage a project, work to deadlines, and prioritize between competing demands;
  • Understanding of "how the internet works". For example:
    • Know the differences between TCP & UDP, and understand what kinds of applications may favor one over the other;
    • Can explain the difference between authoritative DNS & recursive DNS;
    • You understand the role of a firewall, why TLS (SSL) plays an increasingly important role on today's Internet, a solid understanding of HTTP and a willingness to dive deeper into the quirks of clients & servers alike;
  • Singaporean or PR is highly preferred.
  • Language proficiency: Fluent in Mandarin to support Chinese-speaking customers.

Bonus!
  • Previous experience in a sales or consulting role. (note: doesn't have to be in tech);
  • Demonstrated experience with a scripting language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Bash) and a desire to expand those skills;
  • You've built a web application before, or contributed to an existing application in a meaningful way;
  • You can describe the differences between CSRF, XSS and SQLi in detail, and Cloudflare's role in defending against them;
  • Understanding of, or experience with, regulatory requirements such a PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2;
  • AI / ML familiarity - exposure to LLM applications, inference workloads, RAG, or AI gateway / model routing concepts; ability to discuss how customers operationalize AI in production (latency, cost, abuse, data residency);
  • Developer platform experience - hands-on with serverless / edge compute (Workers, Durable Objects, R2, KV, D1, Queues, or equivalents) and API-first architectures;
  • Cloud architecture fluency - working knowledge of AWS / GCP / Azure / Alibaba Cloud and hybrid or multi-cloud deployment patterns.
