Staff Systems and Platforms Software Engineer

Role Overview

d-Matrix is building an in-memory compute platform for AI inference in the datacenter, and this role owns the runtime software that makes that silicon perform. As a Staff Systems and Platforms Software Engineer, you'll architect and develop the runtime, low-level drivers, and systems software that run across the multi-core CPU subsystems inside our SoC and the systems that host it. You'll be the primary owner of runtime performance for the silicon product, setting delivery schedules, upholding d-Matrix's coding and methodology standards, and making the architectural calls that determine how fast and reliably our chips run in production. You'll work closely with the hardware team, hardware verification, and the rest of software engineering to get there.

What You Will Do

• Architect, document, and develop runtime software that executes across the SoC's multi-core CPU subsystems.

• Own end-to-end runtime performance of the silicon product.

• Design and develop low-level drivers and systems software for the platforms that host the SoC.

• Design, implement, and develop distributed, scale-out systems software for AI inference infrastructure.

• Set delivery schedules and ensure software meets d-Matrix coding and methodology guidelines.

• Identify, analyze, and debug complex systems-level software issues.

• Deliver production-quality code across the runtime and driver stack.

• Collaborate with the hardware team, hardware verification team, and other software engineers throughout development.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in embedded software development.

• Hands-on experience with Linux system-level programming.

• Strong knowledge of Linux device drivers.

• Hands-on systems programming experience in C or C++.

• Experience working with containers and VMs.

• Strong operating systems fundamentals.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python.

• Understanding of the GPU accelerator compute stack.
