Design and develop distributed mapping systems, optimize performance, mentor engineers, and collaborate with teams on software development for autonomous vehicles.
The 3D Mapping team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop a scalable, efficient mapping automation system that supports the creation, cataloging, and maintenance of HD maps deployed to Zoox’s fleet. This role will be instrumental in scaling our mapping operations to the next level.
In this role, you will:
- Automate complex pipelines and workflows in Zoox HD map machinery.
- Support the development of HD map creation and maintenance pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and technical roadmaps.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development cycle including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
3+ years of industry experience working on data pipelines or automated workflows
Proficient in C++ and Python
Experience in cloud / distributed computing and relational databases
Experience developing RESTful APIs
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with frontend web development: React/Typescript
Experience working with geospatial data and coordinate systems
Experience automating complex workflows
