About Anello Photonics:

ANELLO http://www.anellophotonics.com is a leading-edge technology company that has developed integrated photonic system-on-chip technology for next generation navigation devices. ANELLO's SIPHOG™ gyroscope is based on its patented photonic integrated circuit technology. Our devices are higher performance, much smaller in size and weight, at a fraction of the cost of traditional gyros used in industrial-grade, aerospace, and military applications. ANELLO products provide low-cost, reliable, and precision navigation and positioning across all autonomous applications. ANELLO has a growing list of market-leading customers in mining, construction, farming, unmanned aerial and marine vehicles, as well as a variety of applications within defense and national security segments.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong hardware foundation and expertise in navigation algorithms, signal processing, and sensor integration. The ideal candidate is technically rigorous and highly effective in customer-facing settings – able to translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders. This is a highly cross-functional role that blends system-level design, algorithm development, debugging, field testing, and technical customer support. You will work closely with hardware, software, and product teams to ensure the performance and reliability of our inertial navigation systems in real-world conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical expert supporting customers through system-level integration and evaluation of ANELLO’s navigation products
  • Design and execute test plans to characterize and verify system performance
  • Lead hands-on testing, demos, and performance evaluations of navigation systems in high pressure environments
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and product teams to drive product improvements based on data-driven analysis and direct customer feedback
  • Contribute to the development, validation, and tuning of sensor models and navigation algorithms
  • Communicate technical findings, trade-offs, and performance metrics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven success in customer-facing roles—capable of building trust and navigating technical discussions with customers and partners
  • Strong hands-on skills in hardware bring-up and debugging using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
  • Experience working with inertial sensors (accelerometers, gyroscopes), GNSS, magnetometers, and related navigation technologies
  • Deep understanding of signal processing and control theory, including practical experience implementing and tuning Kalman filters
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for data analysis, modeling, and algorithm development
  • An intuitive and analytical approach to identifying, debugging, and solving complex, multi-disciplinary problems.

Additional Information:

  • Travel up to 25% may be required for customer meetings, demos and field testing, and industry conferences
  • Due to various contracts ANELLO works under affiliated with U.S. government, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. (U.S. citizenship or Perm Residence)
  • If you're excited to work on cutting-edge navigation systems and enjoy both technical deep dives and hands-on problem solving, we’d love to hear from you.
