Our client, a world leader in life sciences and biotechnology, is looking for a “Senior Systems Support Engineer" based in Pleasanton, CA.

 

Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension)

Pay Rate : $79/hr on W2

 

Company Benefits: Medical, Paid Sick leave, 401K

 

Travel: Local travel to Santa Clara, CA as needed


Job Overview

Seeking a Senior Systems Support Engineer to support laboratory instruments, software, and networked systems used across R&D and Clinical Operations. This role has a strong focus on networking and connectivity, along with hands-on instrument installation, qualification, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, relocate, deinstall, qualify, and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on laboratory instruments and systems.
  • Troubleshoot instrument hardware, software, and network connectivity issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Manage IP addressing and connectivity for networked laboratory instruments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Fortigate firewalls, VLANs, switches, routing, DNS/DHCP, and related network infrastructure.
  • Provide onsite and remote IT/networking support for R&D and laboratory environments.
  • Manage service requests and coordinate/triage issues through ServiceNow.
  • Document service, maintenance, and qualification activities accurately in equipment management systems.
  • Execute and support IQ/OQ qualification activities and work within applicable FDA/ISO requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members as expertise develops.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, IT/Networking, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting medical/laboratory equipment and/or networked systems in R&D, hospital, or clinical laboratory environments.
  • Hands-on experience with IP addressing/subnetting, VLANs, switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Direct experience configuring and troubleshooting Fortigate or similar firewall/network security appliances.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall rules.

 

Preferred

  • Networking certification such as CCNA, Network+, or Fortinet certification.
