What is saas.group?

Think of us as the driving catalyst behind your favorite software success stories. saas.group, established in 2017, is on a mission to turbocharge promising B2B SaaS ventures, unlocking their full potential. As a Software-as-a-Service portfolio powerhouse, we specialize in acquiring small software treasures and polishing them into industry stars. With a dynamic, fully remote team of 400+ colleagues spanning 45 countries, we are truly global and rewriting the playbook on SaaS innovation and collaboration. We grow 24 exciting brands under our umbrella.

Profile Overview

This is a critical, tax-operations-focused role in our Central Finance team that manages accounting, controlling, and legal functions across a growing group of 15+ international entities. You will report to our Director of Accounting & Tax and own all aspects of tax compliance and operational accounting for several entities.

In your daily work you will interact with our CFO, Controlling Team, external tax advisors, and the managing directors of many of our portfolio brands. You will be the operational engine behind our 2026 Central Accounting Goals - driving tax compliance software implementation, US tax nexus frameworks, transfer pricing model execution, and AI-powered workflow automation within our ERP NetSuite.

This position offers a unique opportunity to take your tax and accounting career to the next level by joining a fast-growing software group with opportunities to grow your profile in areas such as international tax structuring, AI-augmented tax research, consolidation, GAAP conversion, and M&A tax due diligence.

Your Responsibilities

Tax Operations & Compliance

  • Own end-to-end US tax compliance: sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax (CIT) across all US entities, including nexus assessment and taxability determination
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of tax compliance software integrated with NetSuite, ensuring automated tax calculation, filing, and reporting
  • Build and maintain the US Tax Nexus Compliance Framework: conduct economic nexus assessments, monitor state-level thresholds, and manage registration and filing obligations
  • Support the Transfer Pricing Model Implementation, and document transfer pricing policies between our Delaware parent and European subsidiaries
  • Prepare and file VAT, sales tax, and GST returns
  • Act as primary liaison with external tax advisors and auditors on US and international tax matters - coordinate engagements, review deliverables, and challenge advisory fees and scope using AI-verified research
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including calculation of current and deferred income tax expense (benefit) for all US and international entities
  • Maintain the deferred tax roll-forward schedule: identify and document temporary differences between book (GAAP) and tax basis of assets and liabilities, compute deferred tax assets (DTAs) and deferred tax liabilities (DTLs), and assess the need for valuation allowances
  • Coordinate with external auditors on income tax provision workpapers, supporting schedules, and tax footnotes; serve as the primary contact for all ASC 740-related audit inquiries
  • Support the FY26 US GAAP Conversion & Audit Readiness initiative by building the tax provision framework, establishing opening deferred tax balances, and documenting tax accounting policies for the group’s first US GAAP financial statements

Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee all aspects of operational accounting for assigned entities: billing, general ledger, payroll, AP, AR, and revenue recognition within NetSuite
  • Maintain general ledger reconciliations with adequate documentation for all balance sheet accounts
  • Deliver financial reporting, analysis, and commentary for your portfolio; support consolidation and monthly group reporting
  • Support annual financial statements and statutory audits
What You Bring to the Table

Must-Have Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation (CPA strongly preferred) and at least 5 years’ experience in US tax and accounting roles
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with NetSuite
  • Experience with tax compliance software (Avalara, Vertex, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with external tax advisors on US and international tax matters
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with hands-on experience in income tax accounting under ASC 740 (tax provisions, deferred tax assets/liabilities, valuation allowances, and effective tax rate reconciliation)
  • Prior work experience at a SaaS, Software, or technology company with multi-entity structures

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with transfer pricing documentation
  • Familiarity with Stripe, Chargebee, or other SaaS billing/revenue recognition tools
  • Experience with tax provision software (ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Bloomberg Tax Provision, Longview, or equivalent)
  • Experience with multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional tax provisions in an acquisition-heavy environment

Working Style

  • Independent, structured, solution-oriented and analytical way of working
  • Strong time management skills with ability to meet financial deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment
  • Strong English Communication skills
What’s in it for You
  • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
  • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
  • AI-First culture: We invest in AI tools and expect every team member to leverage them.
  • Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
  • Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
  • Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally.
  • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.
