This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum
The Role
This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative team focused on propulsion related system models including thermal, hydraulic, lubrication and ventilation domains. Build 1D fluid dynamics & coarse 3D thermal models that directly impact design development, validation and eliminate hardware testing. Simulations include battery cell, battery pack, drive units, electric motors, power electronics, combustion engine and transmission related systems.
What You'll Do
  • Conceptualize, build, and exercise analytical system level models for electrified and conventional propulsion systems using 1D software tools (GT-SUITE, AMESIM, MATLAB, Simulink or similar)
  • Integrate plant models of different domains into a larger system level model capable of "Software or Hardware (SiL or HiL) in the Loop" Co-Simulation
  • Provide component-level and/or system-level design recommendations to Design Responsible Engineers based on interpretation of analysis results
  • Own and advance analysis practices and/or tools to improve prediction fidelity and execution speed
  • Collaborate with analysis counterparts across several VDDV teams representing global propulsion systems and vehicle engineering
  • Mentor, train and lead our TCS India colleagues as well as new team members
  • Provide technical leadership and problem resolution by leveraging analysis results
  • Lead efficiency improvement projects, including the development of automation tools via Python or MATLAB

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with simulation, design, testing, or release of propulsion related systems
  • 1 year of experience with GT-SUITE, AMESIM or similar software
  • Extensive experience with the principles of vehicle propulsion system design, operation, or testing

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in heat transfer or fluid mechanics
  • Extensive experience with test to model correlation processes, considering variation analysis
  • Experience with programming or scripting in Python, MATLAB or similar software
  • Extensive experience with Siemens NX CAD modeling.
  • Experience in AI / ML methods or Agentic workflows.

This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}.
