Our Mission  SPAN is enabling electrification for all ⚡

We are a mission-driven company designing, building, and deploying products that electrify the built environment, reduce carbon emissions, and slow the effects of climate change.
  • Decarbonization is the process to reduce or remove greenhouse gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide, from entering our atmosphere.

  • Electrification is the process of replacing fossil fuel appliances that run on gas or oil with all-electric upgrades for a cleaner way to power our lives.

At SPAN, we believe in:
  • Enabling homes and vehicles powered by clean energy

  • Making electrification upgrades possible

  • Building more resilient homes with reliable backup

  • Designing a flexible and distributed electrical grid

The Role

We are looking for a talented Senior Visual Designer who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and brings both creativity and precision to their work. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply passionate about crafting visually compelling, functional, and meaningful design experiences that span multiple touchpoints.

As a key member of our design team, you will work across brand, digital, product, and marketing initiatives, contributing to everything from developing robust design systems to creating impactful presentations and promotional materials. Your work will support a wide range of audiences—including consumers/homeowners as well as B2B segments such as homebuilders, solar and HVAC installers, electrical contractors, distributors, and utilities.

From visually-rich marketing campaigns to immersive event experiences, your designs will help bring the mission of SPAN to life. We are at the forefront of home electrification, grid modernization, and decarbonization, driving innovation in the residential sector as we work toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.

If you're a versatile designer who enjoys wearing many hats and wants to make a tangible impact in the effort to decarbonize, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation and evolution of cohesive visual design systems across digital and print platforms.

  • Design for a wide range of outputs, including marketing campaigns, websites, mobile apps and desktop UI/UX, presentations, trade shows, and internal communications.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, engineering, and executive leadership to bring ideas to life.

  • Maintain and expand our brand identity—ensuring consistency while pushing creative boundaries.

  • Apply user-centered design principles to elevate both aesthetics and usability.

  • Stay on top of design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously raise the creative bar.

About You Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally in a fast-moving tech or startup environment.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Google Workspace tools.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of work, including branding, web/digital, UI/UX, and systems thinking.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in an agile, iterative environment.

  • Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to translate abstract ideas into compelling visuals.

  • A proactive mindset—you’re not afraid to take initiative, solve problems, and lead design conversations.

  • Familiarity with design for sustainability, electrification, or clean tech is a plus.

  • College degree in design or related field is a plus, but not required. We value portfolio and professional experience above all.
