Job Description

ABOUT WISE PLATFORM

Wise Platform takes all of the world-class payments products Wise has built over the last 15 years and enables hundreds of millions of consumers and businesses to access them in the places where they already move and manage their money - with banks and online platforms. Today, we’re already powering payments for some of the world’s top neobanks like Monzo, N26, and Nubank, alongside a growing list of leading global banks such as UniCredit, Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an SMB Business Development Manager (BDM) to join the Payouts team within Wise Platform in North America. Payouts is a high-growth pillar serving enterprise customers who need to move funds globally at scale — such as insurance companies paying claims or media platforms paying creator royalties.

Based in Austin, TX, and reporting to the Head of Payouts, North America, you will have the autonomy to own the regional SMB demand end-to-end. This role is a critical driver of our scaling strategy, responsible for both creating outbound pipeline and managing inbound demand, while building the operational "rubric" that will define how this team grows.

What You'll Do

  • Own SMB Demand Strategy: Manage the inbound queue end-to-end and execute daily outbound prospecting against target accounts.

  • Build Operational Frameworks: Document routing logic, disqualification criteria, and handoff formats to scale the team’s efficiency.

  • Drive Revenue: Lead client calls and close small, high-velocity deals independently.

  • Enable Sales Pipeline: Ensure clean CRM data and write high-quality handoffs that Account Executives can act on immediately.

  • Traveling expected 20% of the time to NY.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Sales Experience: 1+ years in sales development or inside sales with a proven track record of meeting quotas.

  • Closing Ability: Experience owning opportunities end-to-end and closing deals consistently.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written communication for routing notes and stakeholder handoffs.

  • Analytical Rigor: Strong organizational skills to manage a high-volume queue and maintain accurate CRM data.

Additional Information

What We Offer:

  • RSUs in a rapidly growing company.

  • Annual self-development budget.

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance – including HSA and FSA options.

  • Company-paid Life Insurance, Short & Long-Term Disability, and EAP program.

  • Flexible working model – a mix of remote and in-office work.

  • Relocation expenses covered.

  • Generous PTO, sick days, holidays, compassionate leave, and paid “Me” days.

  • Paid 6-week sabbatical leave after four years.

  • 401k with up to a 4% employer match.

  • Recognized as a 2025 Austin BuiltIn Best Award winner for Best Places to Work.

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders  — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.

We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
