Overview

At Global Skilling (GS), our mission is to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more through learning. As AI and emerging technologies reshape the workforce, the need to make skilling accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant has never been greater. We believe creators—both external and internal—play a pivotal role in how people discover, trust, and engage with educational opportunities.

At Microsoft Learn, we’re reimagining how people gain skills for the future. Our mission is to make learning accessible, engaging, and relevant—meeting learners where they are with stories, content, and community that reflect the world they live in. Social media is one of our most powerful tools for connection, and we use it to educate, inspire, and support a global audience of learners and professionals.

As the Social Media Manager, you’ll help bring the Microsoft Learn voice to life across social platforms through sharp writing, video-first storytelling, and audience-led creative strategy. Working closely with the Senior Social Media Manager, internal creators, video production partners, and social strategy leads, you’ll help shape a recurring content series, script short-form videos, and develop platform-native social moments that make skilling feel relevant, useful, and engaging. This role blends creativity, editorial judgment, and strategic care — turning learner needs, campaign priorities, and cultural moments into social content that connects with audiences worldwide.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive.

  • Script short-form videos, collaborating with creators, internal SMEs, and production partners to translate skilling stories, product education, and learner insights into fast, scroll-worthy content.
  • Lead audience-specific social campaigns as needed, developing creative approaches tailored to priority audiences such as business users, students, IT professionals, developers, educators, or other learner segments.

  • Co-lead social strategy for major Microsoft Learn events as needed, helping define platform plans, content angles, video opportunities, real-time moments, and post-event storytelling.

  • Identify emerging trends, questions, or conversation starters from the community to inform content planning.

  • Maintain and evolve engagement playbooks and response frameworks for consistency across platforms.

  • Help maintain a healthy, inclusive community environment by moderating and guiding platform conversations.
