Zelos is building the data platform for mission-critical systems, helping teams observe, control, and test their systems on a collaborative platform – from prototype to production. Founded by Tesla and Neuralink engineers, backed by YC and Human Capital.
As a Backend Software Engineer, you will build and maintain distributed systems that process and store very high-frequency time-series data. This includes designing scalable storage solutions that can manage large datasets in real-time, optimizing system performance, and engaging with customers to deliver effective data solutions. Our backend system is primarily built in Rust, and leverages technologies such as Apache Parquet and Arrow.
- Strong proficiency with backend languages (Rust, Golang) for building scalable services
- Proven track record architecting cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with modern build and deployment tooling (NixOS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Understanding of storage solutions such as Parquet, InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, or similar
- Familiarity with technologies like Apache Arrow plus experience with distributed databases
You'll join a team of seasoned engineers building cutting-edge solutions for the next generation of connected systems. We value first-principles
thinking, hands-on problem solving, and collaborative engineering. As a startup, you'll have significant influence over our technical direction and the opportunity to build systems that directly impact how teams develop and deploy mission-critical hardware. We understand that no one individual knows everything. We will all learn together and from each other. We strive to build a collaborative, enriching environment conducive to personal, technical, and career growth.
Zelos provides competitive compensation (salary and equity) and benefits. The salary for this role ranges from $115,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Join us in revolutionizing how teams build, test, and deploy mission-critical systems at Zelos.
