As a key member of a diverse and dynamic engineering team, you will build and scale UI applications, data platforms, and frameworks that support and optimize Chewy's fulfillment center operations.

What You'll Do
- Design and develop web-based applications powered by real-time data, including integrations with machine learning workflows such as data preprocessing, model training, and deployment using AWS services such as Amazon SageMaker.
- Design and develop large-scale distributed systems that process high volumes of data, with a focus on scalability, low latency, and fault tolerance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following software engineering best practices.
- Ensure code is well-documented, thoroughly reviewed, and supported by automated testing.
- Advocate for and implement best practices in version control, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
- Drive operational excellence through improved observability, monitoring, and alerting.
- Continuously measure system availability and optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, product managers, and operations stakeholders, to deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 1 year of front-end development experience.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as React and Node.js, and fluency in Java, Python, or another modern programming language.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, including containerization, configuration management, and deployment.
- Experience designing and developing software with consideration for data structures, algorithms, performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Experience with cloud-native technology stacks such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience developing and maintaining end-to-end customer-facing web applications.
- Experience with data platforms, data lakes, lakehouses, or machine learning pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and a proven ability to apply AI to improve productivity.
The base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $190,000.00.
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
