About Middesk

Middesk makes it easier for businesses to work together. Since 2018, we’ve been transforming business identity verification, replacing slow, manual processes with seamless access to complete, up-to-date data. Our platform helps companies across industries confidently verify business identities, onboard customers faster, and reduce risk at every stage of the customer lifecycle.

Middesk came out of Y Combinator, is backed by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, and was recently named to Forbes Fintech 50 List and cited as an industry leader in business verification by digital identity strategy firm, Liminal.

About Middesk Engineering:

"Velocity" is the rate at which we effect realized value for our customers, not the rate at which we ship code. We believe that great products result when technical excellence and craft is combined with deep understanding of our customers and the problems we can help them solve. We’re a humble, self-motivated team that seeks to ship early and ship often; we pride ourselves with being willing to roll up our sleeves to solve even the messiest problems our customers present to us. Middesk Engineering is customer-first engineering.

The Role:

We’re hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to join our DevSecOps team. Your team’s mission is to empower engineering teams with secure, cost-effective, and scalable platform capabilities that accelerate software delivery, improve developer experience, and ensure compliance with industry and customer standards. You’ll be responsible for building the tooling and platform required to scale our development and production systems. Your team has a direct influence over the full Software Development Lifecycle at Middesk and overall developer experience (DevEx). The systems your team will support include Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, observability, and local development experience.

We follow a hybrid work model, and for this role, there is an expectation of 2 days per week in our SF/NYC office. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance, as we believe in the value of in-person collaboration and building strong team connections while also supporting flexibility where possible.

What You'll Do:
  • Design, build, and scale cloud infrastructure and orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD).

  • Own and evolve developer experience (DevEx) tools and workflows, from local development to deployment.

  • Build observability systems that provide insight into performance, reliability, and usage.

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Platform and Product Engineers to build shared platform tools necessary to scale our products and services

  • Help enforce and maintain security and compliance standards across infrastructure (SOC 2, FedRAMP, etc).

  • Drive a culture of automation, resiliency, and operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For:
  • 6+ years of experience building infrastructure, platform, or DevOps systems at scale.

  • Strong experience operating and managing Kubernetes-based environments in production.

  • Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform) and GitOps workflows.

  • Experience working on high availability systems

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience building and deploying components of the AI stack.

  • Experience building and deploying AI infrastructure or agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code).

  • Prior experience at a fast-growing startup or fintech company.
