About the Role

As a core member of the App Matrix strategic team, you will lead the 0-to-1 development of next-generation mobile products. You will not only ensure the extreme performance and scalability of NewsBreak’s flagship app but also architect new product lines from scratch. We are looking for a builder who is obsessed with performance and can translate technical excellence into significant business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Architectural Design: Drive the 0-to-1 iOS architecture for new products, balancing rapid iteration with long-term system maintainability.
  • Performance Excellence: Tackle deep technical bottlenecks such as memory management, startup time, and UI fluidity to elevate the user experience for tens of millions of DAU.
  • Drive Innovation: Provide innovative technical solutions for the App Matrix from an engineering perspective to enable rapid validation and growth of business goals.
  • Engineering Standards: Mentor junior engineers and optimize engineering standards, including Code Reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor’s degree or above; 3+ years of professional experience in iOS platform development.
    2. Proficiency in Objective-C / Swift.
    3. Deep understanding of network communication mechanisms and data transfer protocols; proven experience in weak network optimization.
    4. Hands-on experience in encapsulating client-side common underlying libraries and SDKs.
    5. Excellent communication skills and team spirit; obsessed with technology and user experience; capable of working under high pressure.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Strong product and business sense.
    2. Experience with the following: JavaScript, RxSwift, IGListKit, fastlane, or Protocol Buffers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Pay may vary based on a number of factors including job-related skills, level, experience, geographic location and relevant education or training. At NewsBreak, we design our overall rewards package to attract top talents. Depending on the position, the role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and options.
