What We Do

Rillet serves accounting and finance teams—the financial brains of their companies. Our job is to help them run the numbers with impossible speed, accuracy, and insight.

Rillet is the AI-native ERP that middle-market and enterprise companies trust for revenue recognition, multi-entity consolidation, and investor reporting. To enable real-time finance and a continuous close, Rillet rebuilt the general ledger from the ground up for the AI era. Rillet serves companies from Series A through the public markets, including Mercor, Scribe, and Function Health, and is a certified partner of top accounting firms like EY and KPMG.

This huge market is ours to take. We have raised $100M+ from leading investors, including Sequoia, a16z, Iconiq, Oak HC/FT, and First Round, to help everyone run their numbers at the speed of AI.

Who We Are

Rillet’s pace is not for everyone. Intelligence is table stakes. To succeed here, you need extreme speed, agency, and flexibility.

The people who thrive at Rillet do not wait for assignments. They internalize the mission, design a strategy, and bring back results that are better, faster, and more creative than a manager could have asked for.

Our work revolves around our customers. The people who succeed here are energized by delivering what matters most, even when it was not part of the original plan.

Rillet is built on deep accounting expertise, and it takes people from many disciplines to build a category-defining company. You do not need to be an accountant to thrive here. You do need to care deeply about the problems we solve and the impact our customers can create. Together, we combine the precision of accounting with the speed, creativity, and ambition of AI-native software to power the financial core of the world’s fastest-growing companies while redefining what finance teams should expect from their software.

Who We Need

Experienced engineers who've made infrastructure a competitive advantage — not just reliable plumbing. You've owned the systems that let product teams ship with confidence, you think in tradeoffs, and you care deeply about how a team builds, not just what ships.

We're building industry-defining accounting and finance software. Our platform needs to scale with us, and we want an engineer who brings a point of view to that work.

Our Tech Stack: Svelte 5/TypeScript frontend, Kotlin + Spring Boot backend, PostgreSQL, AWS. We're AI-native — meaning thoughtful application, not outsourced thinking. Our engineers still reason from first principles; AI helps with execution.

We’re looking for teammates who are based near our New York City or San Francisco offices, or open to relocating. Our hybrid schedule brings the team together in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus one additional flexible day each week. Some roles may spend more time in the office depending on the needs of the team.

What You'll Do
  • Own the infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer tooling that keeps our engineering team shipping fast and safely at scale

  • Set the technical direction for reliability, security, and compliance — building these in from the ground up rather than bolting them on later

  • Shape the design and scalability of our external API, turning it into a competitive asset for customers and partners

  • Partner with engineering leadership to define roadmap priorities and translate ambiguous problems into clear technical plans

  • Raise the bar for engineering quality through design reviews, mentorship, and hands-on collaboration

Who We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record on complex, large-scale projects

  • Deep expertise in AWS — this is our primary cloud and you'll own it

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, observability tooling, and distributed systems

  • Comfortable making technical decisions and navigating hard tradeoffs at whatever scope your role demands

  • Energized by building in a fast-moving environment where the playbook is still being written

Bonus Points
  • Experience building or maintaining third-party integrations (ERP, fintech, or similar)

  • Background in fintech, ERP, or accounting software

  • Experience owning and scaling public-facing APIs

  • Familiarity with enterprise readiness (SOC 2, SSO/SAML, audit logging, or similar)

  • Kotlin, Java, or TypeScript experience

  • Prior experience at a high-growth startup

Life at Rillet
  • Grow with us. Take meaningful ownership, expand your scope, and make an impact as Rillet scales.

  • Competitive pay and meaningful equity. Be rewarded for the value you help create.

  • Benefits that support you. We offer medical and dental coverage, including up to 100% of employee premiums and 90% of dependent premiums, along with a 401(k), flexible PTO, nine company-wide holidays, and paid parental leave for eligible employees.

  • Better together. We’re hybrid-first, with teams centered in New York City and San Francisco, as well as select remote roles. Our offices are stocked with snacks, we regularly provide lunch and dinner, and we make time to connect as a team.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
