SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER (STARLINK ENTERPRISE)

At SpaceX we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class engineers to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the globe.

The Starlink Enterprise Software team builds interfaces and systems for Starlink’s largest customers. Starlink powers complex and critical tasks across hundreds of sectors: emergency response, education, transportation, telecommunications, construction, and many more. As an engineer on this team, you’ll build tools to manage thousands of Starlink devices around the world, the core backend systems to serve that data, and the internal interfaces used by our sales and operations teams. You’ll get the chance to work across the stack: from UI/UX design to distributed systems engineering to working with embedded software. We don’t have project managers; engineers on the team are directly responsible for delivering the best internet experience from space for humans everywhere on Earth.

  • Develop well-architected, responsive, performant, and reliable software for Starlink customers and internal users
  • Write excellent frontend code for modern browsers
  • Design, build, maintain, and debug complex backend systems

  • Deep dive into your users’ problems to find and create efficient solutions
  • Bring your voice to the table in team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams across Starlink to advance our engineering process and culture

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a STEM discipline and 1+ years of experience building full-stack software; OR 3+ years of professional experience building full-stack software in lieu of a degree (internship experience is applicable)

  • Front-end experience in Angular, React, or similar JavaScript framework
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, CockroachDB, or similar database technologies
  • Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts
  • Experience with large-scale and/or performance-critical application development
  • Experience with UNIX-like operating systems and CI/CD tools

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Level I: $135,000.00 - $155,000.00/per year
