About The Role

HP IQ’s Device Experiences team is focused on building innovative, user-facing software experiences across Windows client devices and emerging hardware-software platforms. The team works at the intersection of software, hardware, and AI, exploring new ways these technologies can come together to create intuitive and meaningful product experiences, including emerging health-focused initiatives. As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to next-generation projects, collaborate across disciplines, and help bring new experiences from early concepts and prototypes to working solutions.

What You Might Do

  • Contribute to the foundational building blocks of our frameworks, helping create intuitive, responsive, and enjoyable user experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to prototype, iterate on, and bring new interactions and product experiences to life.
  • Tackle challenging technical problems, identify tradeoffs and constraints, and communicate issues, needs, and potential solutions clearly across the team.
  • Explore and develop new interaction models by connecting unique sensors and hardware capabilities to application-level frameworks and user experiences.

Essential Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related technical field 
  • Strong programming skills in one more languages such as Java or C++

Preferred Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow while working through new technologies, evolving requirements, and unfamiliar technical challenges.
  • Passion for building thoughtful, high-quality user-facing products and experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and impactful.
  • Experience developing for mobile platforms, with an understanding of mobile application development, platform frameworks, and user experience considerations.

Hourly Pay Range: $45.00–$51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.

2027 Internship Program Dates: May/June–August/September 2027. Final dates will be based on student schedules.

The salary range for this role is listed above. Final salary offered is based upon multiple factors including individual job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge and skills.
