About Out Summer Internship Program

Our Summer Internship Program is designed for students entering their final year of university who are eager to gain meaningful, real-world experience in a fast paced, collaborative, and professional environment.

As a Summer Intern, you'll participate in a comprehensive onboarding experience led by our University Relations team to set you up for success from day one. Throughout the program, you'll also have the opportunity to participate in weekly professional development sessions, networking events, social activities, and other engaging experienced designed to support your personal and professional growth.

The program takes place from June – August 2027 (10-12 week program).

Core Responsibilities

Interns are often assigned a primary project to complete over 10–12 weeks, such as building a new internal tool, exploring applied research topics or extending a product feature. 

  • Coding & Development: Writing clean, testable code in languages like Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript to build software components or applications.
  • Testing & Debugging: Identifying, documenting, and fixing bugs; performing unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability.
  • Agile Collaboration: Participating in Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews with the team.
  • Tooling & Automation: Creating scripts to automate routine tasks, such as data processing or deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Documentation: Writing technical specs and user guidance for developed features. 

This role requires you to be in office 5 days a week at the San Jose, California location

Common Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Programming Proficiency: Solid foundation in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., Python, Java, or C++).
  • Technical Fundamentals: Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and distributed computing.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to learn quickly, communicate complex ideas effectively, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bonus Skills: Familiarity of Machine learning and NLP algorithm, specific frameworks like Spark, Ray, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or specific frameworks (React, Node.js).

The pay range posted is an hourly rate of base pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.

$40 - $50 USD
