We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

THE ROLE

As a Software Engineering Manager on the Control Plane team at Everpure, you will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for the software that manages, configures, and helps manage our hyperscale storage systems that operate at scale.

In this role, you will be both a technical leader and a people manager—guiding architecture, execution, and team development across a control-plane stack built around stable APIs, predictable workflows, idempotent operations, and resilient distributed services. You will work closely with product, architecture, systems, hardware, observability, QE, release, and customer-facing teams to translate roadmap and PRD requirements into high-quality production software. This is a role for someone who can connect technical depth with organizational leverage: building a strong team, making sound architectural decisions, driving execution through ambiguity, and improving how complex systems are operated and debugged in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and lead a strong engineering team responsible for control-plane software, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Set technical direction and drive execution for control-plane investments spanning orchestration, lifecycle workflows, service interfaces, platform behavior, customer/operator experience, and operational tooling.
  • Guide the architecture and development of robust, scalable services in Go and related infrastructure, with strong emphasis on correctness, debuggability, maintainability, and operational resilience.
  • Partner with Product Management and Architecture to translate PRD and customer requirements into concrete control-plane capabilities such as local and automated management flows, runbook-friendly interfaces, upgrade and rollback behavior, readiness checks, and safe control over platform operations.
  • Foster strong engineering practices including design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD discipline, observability, and clear operational ownership.
  • Create an environment of accountability, urgency, and psychological safety where engineers can do their best work and grow in scope over time.We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, with a strong track record of leading software teams and developing engineers.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience building production systems, infrastructure software, control software, or distributed services.
  • Strong technical depth in distributed systems, backend platforms, infrastructure software, or cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience guiding architecture and execution for systems that require strong reliability, recoverability, operator clarity, and safe behavior under failure.
  • Familiarity with Go (preferred) or comparable backend/systems technologies, plus the ability to guide high-quality implementation decisions.
  • Experience balancing feature delivery with technical debt, quality, security, and supportability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across teams, functions, and levels.
