Leads a small full-stack engineering team maintaining and enhancing a secure, scalable e-signature SaaS platform. Responsibilities include technical direction, mentoring, .NET and Angular development, Azure operations, reliability and performance improvement, incident response, deployment coordination, security and compliance, code reviews, technical debt reduction, and stakeholder collaboration. The role remains hands-on while overseeing platform stability, auditability, observability, and continuous product improvement.
Lone Wolf is looking to hire a Software Engineering Manager to lead and manage a small, focused team responsible for maintaining and enhancing our e-signature platform. Built on Azure, .NET, and Angular, this platform is a mission-critical part of the real estate transaction experience, enabling agents, brokers, and their clients to sign documents securely, reliably, and with full legal validity. You will be part of a lean, fast-moving product development team, balancing day-to-day operational excellence with a steady stream of enhancements that keep the product secure, performant, and delightful to use. Your work will focus on solutions that are simple, intuitive, easy to maintain, responsive, reliable, scalable, and performant. You will play a central role across the software development life cycle, mentoring your team, safeguarding platform stability, and helping shape the ongoing evolution of a product our customers depend on every day.
THIS MAY BE YOUR DREAM JOB IF:
- You take pride in your reputation for designing simple, elegant solutions and for keeping a mature, established platform healthy, secure, and continuously improving.
- You have high standards for code quality, and you understand that in an e-signature product, correctness, security, and auditability are non-negotiable.
- You enjoy the craft of sustaining engineering, methodically improving reliability, paying down technical debt, and enhancing an existing codebase rather than only building greenfield.
- You consider yourself a fast learner, driven to deepen your knowledge of software architecture, Azure, and Angular, and to keep up with new methods and best practices.
- You enjoy leading, mentoring, and growing a small team, and you are comfortable delegating to experienced engineers while staying hands-on yourself.
- Your friends and colleagues describe you as engaging, a strong communicator who is eager to bring teammates together to figure things out and to represent the team to stakeholders.
- You stay calm and methodical under pressure, whether triaging a production incident or coordinating a time-sensitive fix for a customer-impacting issue.
- You strive for high-quality, rapid output by applying Agile software development with best practices and working alongside like-minded teammates.
- You are curious and pragmatic about AI-assisted engineering, with the ability to craft effective prompts, provide the right context, and apply AI tools responsibly to improve delivery speed and engineering outcomes.
- You are self-motivated and want to work in a small team, yet you are comfortable partnering with other departments, stakeholders, and customers on enhancements, internal tools, and support issues.
AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER YOU WILL BE ASKED TO:
- Lead and manage a small team of full-stack engineers, coordinating day-to-day work, setting technical direction, and supporting each member's growth through mentorship and regular feedback.
- Maintain and enhance a high-quality, secure, and scalable e-signature platform on the .NET technology stack, keeping it stable, performant, and compliant.
- Work with UI designers and product owners to implement new Angular-based features, deliver enhancements, and resolve defects across the front end.
- Own the reliability and health of the platform, including monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement of uptime and responsiveness.
- Uphold the security, integrity, and auditability essential to an e-signature product, including document integrity, audit trails, authentication, and adherence to relevant e-signature and data-protection standards.
- Operate and enhance the platform on Azure, applying cloud best practices for scalability, cost, resilience, and observability.
- Partner closely with Product and IT teams to plan, coordinate, and schedule deployments, applying rigorous due diligence on quality, performance, and security before each release.
- Participate in and coordinate incident response and on-call support for the platform, ensuring customer-impacting issues are resolved quickly and communicated clearly.
- Collaborate effectively with AI-enabled development tools, improving discovery, implementation, testing, documentation, and delivery efficiency.
- Identify technical requirements, prioritize enhancement and maintenance work with product owners, and participate in peer reviews of solution design and related code.
- Proactively learn the product frameworks and codebase; continually improve existing applications and adopt new technologies where appropriate.
- Clearly justify technical decisions made in delivered code and take ownership of outcomes.
- Participate in performance tuning, testing, refactoring, usability improvements, and automation; support, maintain, and document software functionality.
- Maintain coding, compliance, and security standards.
- Provide maintenance and ongoing support for current and future technical solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years of experience developing and delivering large-scale distributed systems
- 6+ years of experience with .NET Framework, .NET Standard, or .NET Core
- 3+ years of experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience building reusable Angular components, managing front-end state, and integrating with RESTful APIs
- Prior experience leading or managing a small engineering team, including mentoring and delegating to experienced developers
- Strong cross-functional skills, working primarily with Product and IT teams to align on priorities, requirements, and delivery
- Experience coordinating and scheduling deployments and releases with IT and operations teams, managing risk and communicating clearly across stakeholders
- A strong due-diligence mindset, rigorously vetting every change for quality, performance, and security before it reaches production
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and enhancing an established, production SaaS platform, not only greenfield development
- Solid understanding of application security, and ideally familiarity with e-signature, document integrity, audit-trail, or compliance concepts (e.g., ESIGN, UETA, eIDAS)
- Understanding of the DRY, SOLID, and KISS principles of software development
- Prior experience with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, and non-relational database technologies
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS and/or PaaS), including deploying, operating, and monitoring cloud workloads
- Strong skills in auditing application logs, telemetry, dependency calls, and storage growth patterns to surface opportunities to improve product stability, performance, and reliability
- Background in high-growth Agile SaaS-based engineering organizations
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and competency in prompt and context engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to clearly explain and justify ideas when faced with competing alternatives
- Ability to communicate and apply common design patterns across a wide range of technical problems
