About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

About The Team:

The DB Schema team's mission is to provide the tooling and expertise necessary to evolve the Salesforce database schema in a consistent, secure, and automated manner, thereby eliminating downtime and scaling the growth of Salesforce's core service.
We are a team of highly collaborative, innovative, and motivated software engineers who support and enhance a service that is mission-critical to Salesforce's core business. Our diverse team upholds Salesforce's values of equality, giving back, customer trust, and innovation.

The Role:

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a high-impact team that enables thousands of developers in every stage of the software development lifecycle, builds tooling that delivers schema releases at an enterprise scale, and serves as the foundation of our industry-leading multi-tenant architecture. The team focuses on developing schema management solutions that meet the scalability, availability, performance, and security requirements of Salesforce's core service offering. This role requires collaboration across several teams and stakeholders to support Salesforce-wide initiatives, including our transition to Salesforce DB and to the public cloud. Strong service ownership is highly valued — balancing short-term operational solutions with long-term technical solutions through both pragmatic and innovative approaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive and deliver enhancements to schema lifecycle tooling that serves multiple database engines across Salesforce's pre-prod and prod fleet

  • Own major subsystems end-to-end: from technical design through implementation, testing, and production rollout

  • Make design decisions on the basis of performance, scalability, and future expansion

  • Provide operational support for schema releases, including incident response and root cause analysis

  • Collaborate with release management, database infrastructure, and application teams to define and deliver safe deployment strategies

  • Use AI tools as a force multiplier for development, testing, and operational workflows

  • Guide and support junior engineers through mentorship and technical feedback

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience building Java applications; proficiency in Python

  • Experience with SQL, designing and building platform services, or infrastructure automation at scale

  • Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous problems and drive them to concrete, opinionated technical designs

  • Track record of owning production services — incident response, operational maturity, monitoring

Optional Skills:

  • Experience working in an agile environment, with multiple releases per year

  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools

  • Familiarity with cloud-native architecture, development, and deployment practices (e.g., AWS, Spinnaker, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform)

Unleash Your Potential

When you join Salesforce, you’ll be limitless in all areas of your life. Our benefits and resources support you to find balance and be your best, and our AI agents accelerate your impact so you can do your best. Together, we’ll bring the power of Agentforce to organizations of all sizes and deliver amazing experiences that customers love. Apply today to not only shape the future — but to redefine what’s possible — for yourself, for AI, and the world.
