Job Description

ICE Group Client is seeking an experienced Virtualization professional to take on the role of our West Coast Solution Architect. This role requires someone with experience with multiple technologies such as virtualization, networking, and storage, and who has designed, implemented or managed virtual solutions for customers.

You will work independently on various efforts including pre-sales activities, customer requirements gathering, working with engineering on behalf of customers, and the development of best practices and reference architectures. This is a pre-sales role for a serious technical person that is willing to assist with sales efforts and customer installs while working with both our support and sales organizations.

Responsibilities Include

  • Work with VAR partners and customers to develop and implement the company’s best practices and optimal configurations
  • Act as an evangelist – this will include speaking in public forums and events and writing articles, blogs and whitepapers
  • Train VARs and other partners through hands-on knowledge transfer and training sessions
  • Participate in remote (Webex/GotoMeeting) sessions with potential customers to demonstrate the product
  • Elicit, document and analyze customer requirements for desktop solutions
  • Present / whiteboard technical solutions to all levels of an organization
  • Support customer and VAR installations by acting as a ICE Group Client infrastructure and implementation expert
  • Work with the sales team as a technical resource in support of the sales efforts
  • Work collaboratively with other internal groups such as marketing and engineering to provide product positioning and technical requirements
  • Put customer success first above all else

Qualifications

  • Virtualization expertise: 2+ years of designing/implementing virtual solutions (VMware Infrastructure preferred but other platforms knowledge is beneficial)
  • Knowledge and/or hands on experience with VMware View and Citrix XenDesktop OR XenDesktop and another virtual desktop infrastructure platform 
Knowledge or understanding of the environment desktops operate in including:
  • Understanding of existing management tools and processes
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs, security, and management
  • Knowledge of desktop resource and system requirements (CPU, memory, disk subsystem, networking)
  • Understanding of existing deployment and management tools for both virtual and physical desktops
  • Basic understanding of existing application deployment methods/technology
Professional presentation skills and the ability to converse at both technical and business levels
  • Experience in setting and managing customer expectations and working directly with both their technical and management teams
  • Proven ability to scope and write technical documentation (whitepapers, design guides, KB articles)
  • Ability to work unsupervised and manage your own schedule based on priorities set by the management team
  • Passion for customer success, and willingness to go the “extra mile” to satisfy customers
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, communication, and account management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changing situations
