About AZX

Our mission is to accelerate positive impact in critical industries through AI transformation. We specialize in physics-informed ML and enterprise AI solutions that directly address climate and sustainability challenges.

We’re growing quickly and already work with category-leaders in real estate (CBRE), energy (LevelTen Energy), logistics (Flexe) and utilities (Puget Sound Energy).

We bootstrapped profitably for our first year and are now backed by leading investors focused on AI, climate and energy.

We work on challenges in clean energy, decarbonization, climate risk, energy systems, and global economics. We’re building our company for long-term success and aim to create the ultimate place to work for those passionate about AI and making a positive impact.

About the Role

We are seeking a Solutions Engagement Manager — a technical, outcomes-driven individual sitting at the intersection of client delivery and engineering.

You will have broad responsibility for the technical and business success of complex programs with the potential to transform your client’s business. You will effectively be “CEO” of your project with the remit that entails and are undaunted by the challenge of broad, poorly defined problems while navigating complex customer organizations and systems.

You will be someone who can embed with clients, develop an expansive understanding of the business, deeply understand the problems they’re trying to solve and partner hands-on with our engineering team to build and ship technical solutions that deliver real value.

Responsibilities

Client Engagement and Solution Design

  • You will embed with client teams, at executive and individual contributor levels, to understand their business, strategic value drivers, and discover/identify the critical issues they need to address for their customers and market.

  • You will identify the problems worth solving while guiding your customer away from non-value-add requests.

  • Ultimately, you will develop a compelling customer solution vision and translate that into clear, actionable guidance and roadmaps for your engineering team.

Product Management

  • From an implementation perspective, you will define what gets built and why. That means getting to the real problem behind a client’s request, turning it into clear requirements and scope, prioritizing the backlog, and setting the success metrics that show whether the solution worked.

  • You will bring enough technical depth to review architecture, data pipelines, and integrations for feasibility before work is committed, while our engineers own how it gets built. Your ownership continues past launch through acceptance testing, user adoption, and iteration

Project Delivery

  • You will own how the work gets delivered by building realistic plans, coordinating across engineers and client stakeholders, and keeping every workstream on track against its deliverables, timeline, and budget.

  • You will hold development teams accountable to commitments and quality.

  • You will track hours and spend, forecast where each project is heading, and raise risks, dependencies, and scope changes early, while there’s still time to act on them.

  • You will keep clients and AZX leadership informed with clear, honest status updates while ensuring project best practices and operational requirements are maintained.

Technology and AI

  • You will maintain a current working knowledge of AI technologies and methods, including what’s changing, what’s proven, and what actually fits a client’s problem.

  • You will use AI in your own day-to-day work, whether that means prototyping an idea as a working customer demo before it goes to engineering, speeding up planning and reporting, or digging into client data to find what matters.

  • You will draw on your prior technical experience to engage credibly with both client technology teams and AZX engineers, so you can test assumptions, weigh tradeoffs, and help guide solutions that hold up in production.

Core Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project, program, and/or product management experience leading technology initiatives with mid- to large-size customers.

  • Hands-on experience working with, deploying or supporting AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions, with the ability to translate between technical users and business stakeholders.

  • Strong technical literacy — able to engage deeply with engineers on system architecture, APIs, data pipelines, and ML model deployment, while maintaining strategic oversight. Technical degree (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or similar experience is highly desired.

  • Proven track record delivering custom-built software and data solutions — not just SaaS deployments — with measurable business impact.

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with experience presenting to and influencing senior client stakeholders, including turning complex technical work into clear business narratives and recommendations.

  • Domain proficiency/expertise in one or more of our critical industries (energy, utilities, real estate, logistics, climate, or infrastructure), with an understanding of their unique data, regulatory, and operational challenges.

  • Demonstrated success supporting or managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in environments of ambiguity and rapid change.

  • Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.

  • A tenacious problem solver — someone who gets energized by ambiguous, technical problems and doesn’t stop at the first surface-level answer.

  • A bias toward outcomes over tasks: you ask “what is this client actually trying to achieve” before you ask “what did they ask us to build.”

  • A growth-oriented learner who actively seeks out feedback and acts on it, and who adapts quickly when new information

Why AZX!

  • Be part of a fast-growing, profitable, mission-driven company with industry-leading clients tackling the massive opportunity of AI transformation in critical industries.

  • Competitive early-stage startup compensation (based on capabilities, experience, and location)

  • Bonus eligibility

  • Health insurance with meaningful coverage for dependents

  • Flexible paid time off

  • Equity

  • Fully remote culture with a cluster of teammates in Seattle

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to travel 2x/year for company summits and occasional client visits

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

  • We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
