About Black Forest Labs

We’re the team building the foundational layer for visual intelligence: multimodal models trained jointly on images, video, audio, and action to see, generate, and understand the world.

Our founding team pioneered latent diffusion and Stable Diffusion, the breakthroughs that made generative AI accessible to millions. With FLUX, we're pushing into generative media at scale, machines that act in the physical world, and emerging applications in computer use.

Our FLUX models top public benchmarks and run in production in some of the world's biggest platforms. We're a small, fast growing research lab competing with the largest companies in the world. From our labs in Freiburg to San Francisco, we're building what comes next.

Why This Role

We at Black Forest labs are seeking a Solutions Engineer to facilitate the adoption of our models among a growing customer base and collaborate with them to address complex technical challenges.

The Solutions Engineer will be an integral part of our GTM team, which is dedicated to driving the successful deployment of BFL models. They will work hand-in-hand with customers from the pre-sale stage to post-implementation, ensuring our solutions meet and exceed customer expectations.

In this role, you’ll manage daily customer relations involving multiple stakeholders (CEO, Sales team, research scientists, and engineers) and also function as a key resource in externalising our research in production settings.

What You’ll Work On
  • Collaborate strategically with our Sales team to enhance the technical aspects of the sales process.

  • You’ll be responsible for onboarding customers on our suite of models, providing guidance on prompting, evaluation, and finetuning, and ensuring the best production integration with back-end and front-end interfaces.

  • Craft compelling technical demonstrations that clearly communicate our product's value proposition.

  • You’ll individually guide and and support customers in deploying our models into production use cases with a considerable business impact.

  • You’ll work in collaboration with our BD team, researchers, other engineers on our most complex customer projects and contributing to our open-source codebases for tasks such as inference and finetuning.

  • You’ll be involved in pre-sales calls to understand potential clients' needs, challenges, and aspirations. You will provide technical guidance on our products and explain BFL technologies to various stakeholders.

  • Create technical enablement resources that amplify our sales team's effectiveness and technical fluency.

  • Build self-service tools and documentation that empower customers to implement solutions independently.

  • Your collaboration with our Applied research to improve continuously our product and model capabilities based on customers’ feedback

What We’re Looking For
  • Are passionate about AI, technology and BFL models

  • Enjoy working directly with customers, iterating on solutions and providing tailored support

  • Have a strong technical background in order to help customers architect integration between our solutions and their existing solutions

  • You have strong technical coding skills in Python, inclusive of a deep understanding of software development, software architecture, and common integration patterns

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences and explain complex technical concepts in simple terms with technical and non-technical audiences

Ideally you have:

  • Contributed to open-source projects in particular in the space of diffusion models

  • Experience as a Customer Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect or Technical Product Manager

How We Work Together

We’re a distributed team with real offices that people actually use. This role is based in San Francisco, and you’ll join us in the office at least 2 days a week, or one full week every other week.

Everything we do is grounded in four values:

  • Obsessed. We are a frontier research lab. The science has to be right, the understanding deep, the product beautiful.

  • Low Ego. The work speaks. The best idea wins, no matter who said it. Credit is shared. Nobody is above any task.

  • Bold. We take the ambitious bet. We ship, we do not wait for conditions to be perfect.

  • Kind. People over politics. We treat each other with genuine warmth. Agency without empathy creates chaos.

If this sounds like work you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you.

Base Annual Salary:

US $180,000 - $285,000 USD + Equity
