KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

AI & Advanced Analytics Strategy, Solutions, and Governance

  • Define and execute an AI‑enabled analytics strategy aligned to GPO priorities and transformation goals

  • Own the end‑to‑end roadmap for predictive, prescriptive, and agentic analytics, including automation and decision intelligence

  • Identify, prioritize, and scale high‑impact AI use cases that deliver measurable business value

  • Lead the development and deployment of AI‑enabled analytics solutions, including:

    • Predictive forecasting, optimization models, and intelligent recommendations

    • Decision support embedded directly into buying and sourcing workflows

    • Automation and AI agents that proactively guide or execute actions

  • Ensure AI solutions comply with data privacy, security, regulatory, procurement policy, and Responsible AI standards

  • Partner with Data Governance, IT, Legal, and Compliance to:

    • Manage AI model lifecycle, validation, and ongoing oversight

    • Ensure transparency, auditability, and explainability

    • Apply consistent policy controls across AI‑enabled workflows

Insight Translation & Business Impact

  • Translate AI outputs into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior leaders

  • Drive adoption by embedding AI enabled insights directly into decision workflows, not standalone reports

  • Measure and communicate business impact, including efficiency gains, savings, risk reduction, and improved compliance outcomes

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead and develop a high performing team focused on AI, advanced analytics, and automation

  • Build organizational fluency in AI enabled, policy aware decision making

  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement within Procurement

  • Build strong relationships with, and act as a strategic partner for leadership and operational teams to manage overall execution of one or more programs and projects to meet goals and targeted results, applying leading change, risk and resource management practices.

  • Advance general departmental project management and change leadership & management discipline – including activity timelines, resource management, budgeting, and reporting.

  • Responsible for guiding stakeholder mapping, change readiness and impact assessment, in coordination with key P&L owners and Procurement Leadership Team.

  • Responsible for growing business partnerships and influencing senior management across the broader Company.

  • Responsible for continuous improvements to performance metrics, programs/processes, and innovations to achieve higher levels of business impact.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Ten Years' Experience

OR

PhD and Eight Years' Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional track record of applying procurement principles, concepts, best practices, and standards along with an in-depth knowledge of industry practices required.

  •   A track record of success leading and participating in cross functional reengineering or process improvement efforts; including experience creating process diagrams, analyzing workflows, developing standard operating procedures, and reengineering business processes.

  •  Superior communication, presentation and change leadership & management skills are required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma and Lean principles preferred.

  •  Experience with ERP implementations leading change management initiatives.

  • Experience driving continuous improvement to risk/compliance-related processes and policies

  • Understanding of end-to-end supplier lifecycle processes including supplier risk assessment and onboarding, ongoing due diligence, and supplier offboarding

  • Project Management skills and/or experience conducting audits

  • Experience and/or knowledge of generally accepted contracting and sourcing processes

The salary range for this position is: $210,375.00 - $272,250.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
