Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow new installation sales throughout the assigned New England territory.
- Generate new business through cold outreach, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and other business development activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with end users, sprinkler contractors, general contractors, and other industry partners.
- Manage both self-generated and internally generated sales opportunities.
- Conduct customer meetings and job-site visits to understand project requirements.
- Develop estimates, proposals, and presentations for prospective customers.
- Manage opportunities from initial prospecting through contract award.
- Negotiate pricing and project scope while maintaining profitability.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, activity records, and forecasts within the company CRM.
- Consistently work toward and achieve established sales and revenue goals.
- Partner with Engineering to develop appropriate technical solutions and project requirements.
- Coordinate with Project Management to ensure a successful handoff following contract award.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings, networking events, trade shows, and industry functions as needed.
Special Hazards Experience
- Sell and develop new installation opportunities involving clean agent, foam, and CO₂ fire suppression systems.
- Apply knowledge of special hazards applications to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Familiarity with manufacturers such as Kidde-Fenwal, Fike, ANSUL, or comparable systems is strongly preferred.
- Evaluate customer sites and gather information needed for accurate scopes, estimates, and proposals.
- Stay current on special hazards products, applications, and industry trends.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of direct fire protection/special hazards industry experience required.
- 3–5 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
- Previous B2B sales or business development experience required.
- Strong knowledge of clean agent fire suppression systems.
- Experience selling clean agent, foam, CO₂, or other special hazards systems strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to generate new business and build a sales pipeline.
- Experience selling to end users, sprinkler contractors, general contractors, or other fire protection/construction customers preferred.
- Ability to conduct site visits and develop estimates and proposals.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sales opportunities and meet revenue targets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
