This is an onsite internship opportunity. Interns work directly from an onsemi office, laboratory, or manufacturing facility, providing valuable exposure to real-world engineering environments, technologies, and team collaboration. Remote work is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

Depending on your assigned team and area of focus, you may:

  • Contribute to the development, testing, and improvement of semiconductor products and technologies.
  • Design and conduct experiments, product characterization, and validation activities.
  • Analyze technical data to identify trends, solve problems, and drive engineering decisions.
  • Develop software tools, automation solutions, AI-enabled applications, or data analytics dashboards.
  • Support product qualification, manufacturing optimization, reliability assessments, and process improvements.
  • Utilize industry-standard engineering software, programming languages, laboratory equipment, and data analytics tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, marketing, and business functions.
  • Document results and communicate technical findings through reports and presentations.
  • Present project outcomes and recommendations to engineering and leadership audiences.
  • Participate in intern networking events, professional development workshops, and mentorship programs.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Materials Science
    • Physics
    • Computer Science
    • Data Science
    • Or a related engineering or technical discipline
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Passion for innovation and interest in semiconductor technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas is highly valued:

  • Semiconductor devices, fabrication, or device physics.
  • Analog, mixed-signal, or power electronics.
  • Silicon Carbide (SiC), Gallium Nitride (GaN), Power MOSFET, or IGBT technologies.
  • Product testing, characterization, validation, and failure analysis.
  • Data analytics, visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • AI, machine learning, generative AI, or data-driven engineering applications.
  • Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, JMP, LabVIEW, SQL, or similar tools.
  • Circuit simulation tools such as Cadence, SPICE, LTspice, MATLAB, or equivalent platforms.
  • Statistical modeling, experimental design, and process optimization.
  • Laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, source measure units (SMUs), parameter analyzers, automated test systems, or related equipment.
  • Previous engineering project, research, co-op, or internship experience.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar technologies to improve productivity, data analysis, research, or technical problem solving.
