Sr Analyst – DTC Insights

Job Summary:

The DTC Insights team within Enterprise Research & Analytics, are currently seeking a Sr Analyst to support strategic growth, engagement and retention insights. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, you will work closely with teams across DTC – including Product & Tech, Marketing, Strategy, and Content – supporting quantitative and qualitative research initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage processes in the planning and executing qualitative and quantitative research studies and analyses (i.e. questionnaire development, programming, and testing surveys, analyzing results, and producing final reports), both as in-house DIY studies and with external research partners.

  • Support ongoing tracking initiatives among the DTC subscriber base, maintaining efficient processes, coordinating with external vendors, and leveraging data sets to uncover insights on a monthly basis.

  • In partnership with the Senior Manager, develop actionable insights and strategies to address key business objectives, by synthesizing relevant data sources (primary, secondary, or first-party) to tell a clear and holistic story.

  • Assist in acquiring and managing research tools as required to meet the needs of internal custom experience tracking

  • Respond to time sensitive data requests from internal clients

  • Support presentation of findings based on research conducted and contribute to related business discussions

  • Stay abreast of current trends and new techniques in the field of market research and the rapidly changing landscape across the entertainment industry

  • Build and maintain relationships within the team and research counterparts from other divisions of The Walt Disney Company as well as external vendors

  • This position will be in office 4 days per week and one day at home (Fridays).  In office will be both in Santa Monica and Burbank.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Psychology or related field or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years quantitative and qualitative market research experience - either supplier-side, client-side, or some combination thereof, including project management

  • Experience with managing all phases in successful execution of research projects, including managing timelines, questionnaire design, data collection and analysis, reporting and presentations.  Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a given time.

  • Strong data analysis skills, particularly with large quantitative or qualitative datasets, and enjoys problem solving

  • Experience with SPSS, Reporter, Q or Marketsight or other cross-tabbing tool

  • Experience with survey platforms such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc. is a plus

  • Collaborative partner and teammate who can build good rapport, communicate effectively, and influence others when needed

  • Strong project and vendor management skills

  • Confident communicator with solid verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas through visual storytelling

  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives

  • Flexible, quick learner, problem solver, and a strong, pro-active work ethic

  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team

  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for innovation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on entertainment or technology consumer research, with an emphasis on SVOD, TV, and/or In-Home content consumption

  • International Market Research experience

  • Proficiency with SQL, with the ability to extract and combine disparate data sources to develop a rich, complete picture for the business

  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar

  • Familiarity with R, Python, SAS, STATA or similar programming languages

  • Experience with non-primary data sources (secondary research, social media data, first-party behavioral data)

  • Experience integrating AI capabilities into research approach to improve efficiency or insight, or a demonstrated interest in doing so

  • Passionate consumer of content – movies, TV, SVOD

  • Familiarity with the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA and Santa Monica, CA is $93,200–$128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
