Summary:

The Sr. Applications Engineer - Oracle Cloud ERP Functional + Technical Consultant will be responsible for providing end-to-end support, design, and implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications across Financial modules. This hybrid role requires both strong functional knowledge of Oracle ERP modules and hands-on technical skills to build extensions, integrations, and reports. The role supports Rakuten Americas’ Corporate IT initiatives and demands strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Oracle ERP Cloud implementations and enhancement initiatives from requirement gathering to deployment and post-production support.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to define business requirements and translate them into Oracle ERP Cloud configurations and/or technical solutions.
  • Design and configure key Oracle financial modules.
  • Develop customizations and extensions using Oracle PaaS tools (e.g., ADF, VBCS, Visual Builder).
  • Build inbound and outbound integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST/SOAP services, and FBDI/ADF-DI templates.
  • Support data migration efforts including data mapping, validation, and conversion.
  • Provide functional and technical troubleshooting, testing, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and business analysts.
  • Participate in release management and testing cycles.
  • Actively identify process improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP architecture and data model.
  • Functional expertise in the following: Oracle ERP Cloud Financials (GL, AP, AR, FA, Expenses)
  • Experience in end-to-end Oracle ERP Cloud implementations including configuration and testing
  • Experienced in full lifecycle Oracle ERP rollout projects, including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, training, and go-live support.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle integration tools such as OIC, BIP, OTBI, FBDI/ADF-DI.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Web Services (REST/SOAP), and Oracle Cloud APIs.
  • Load/update data using FBDI/ADF-DI in SaaS/PaaS environment.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing Oracle integration solutions using various technologies (APIs).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex functional and technical issues.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with full software development life cycle (SDLC) – requirements gathering, map/gap, design, build/development, testing, cut-over and support of Oracle cloud applications.
  • Strong business analytical skills to gather and document business requirements, leading fit-gap analysis, business process designs, managing conference room pilots (CRPs), perform functional configuration, and manage testing of procurement ERP solutions.
  • Ability to take ownership and manage delivery expectations across multiple stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of experience as Oracle Functional/Technical consultant with 3+ years of experience in implementing or supporting “Oracle ERP Cloud” projects and upgrades.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of programming experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in components like Oracle ADF/VBCS/VBS/Sandbox tools with Redwood.
  • 3+ years of experience in creating ORDS APIs, writing Packages to build business logic in ORDS, SQL, Oracle fusion web services (SOAP/REST) and deployment/migration of ORDS API from one instance to another.
  • 3+ year technical experience with Java, .Net, other web related technologies.
  • 3+ year experience with relational database systems, such as Oracle Database.
  • Comfortable in using tools such as Apache JMeter, SOAP UI, Postman, SQL Developer, Putty etc.
  • 2+ years of experience using adapters to integrate Oracle ERP Cloud with external applications like procurement and CRM (e.g. Ariba, Coupa, SFDC, etc)

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.

USD $99,306.00 - $171,612.00 annually
